And then GWS' third goes to Sydney for White. Altogether possible. I think the external perception is that our first-rounder would get it done, our DT compo pick would get it done, but that Heater's perceived value is just below that.
Agree that Heater's perceived value is just below our 1st round pick/s but the beauty of a potential deal with GWS is that they NEED mature players so have to pay overs to get them.

Big difference between players in top 10 or 20 draft bracket and guys like Russell that have been around the block and are recruited for some depth and possible revamp that didn't eventuate. Also think you are a bit harsh on Hartley - I believe he has the potential, has just been too injury prone.

Also that it isn't written in stone that Heater will go. His manager still keeping alive the idea that he might stay at Collingwood will really help us out in trade negotiations.

I still have a firm belief that heater will still be at the pies in 2014. Not because im a huge fanboy, I actually wouldnt mind cashing in on him considering the back options we now have at the club. I just dont think people are going to pay the value we desire.

No I don 't.
Russell pick in the 70's & Yagmoor pick 47, Hartely NSW scholarship player struck down with injuries.
Compared to picks 10 & 11 this year. Absolutely no comparison.
No guarantee of success with any pick, however 1st round picks are a greater chance to make it, rather than pure speculative late picks.

It would be interesting once our picks are finalised to maybe do one of those historical breakdowns of who has been picked at say pick 10 or 11 or 15. Sometimes the names don't fill you with a whole lot of enthusiasm! I feel luckier knowing we have Hine and Rendell as you tend to have a bit of faith in their decision making.

Dangerfield and Sidebottom please.
Dangerfield (Freeman the closest I think) yes please.
Tom Lynch probably a better fit than Sidebottom for us given our needs up forward but not sure there's an equivalent expected to go in that range this year. Would also take Danniher from that list but that's skewed by father son.

You should probably start an anti Collingwood board with Thatsgold - the fact that you have to use rookies and a DFA we got for peanuts to try and make about our first rounders works against your argument.

I liked it :thumbsu:

I hope we get Adams. I like that the club is putting a succession plan in place for each position. Thomas and Adams will be great understudies and potential successors to Luke Ball. The competition will help both of their development.

By the way Reykjavik.... I'm doing a road trip trough Iceland next July. We (about ten minutes ago) booked a Kuku Camper as we want to see some of the countryside. We're thinking of doing the ring road. Do you think that's too ambitious to do in 6 days? If you're not from Iceland and you just like the word, umm, sorry o_O I tried to pm you so that I wasn't clogging up the thread, but it was blocked!

You should tag Reykjavik so he knows you're chasing him.
Never been to Iceland and tbh never really looked at it....have done a bit of travelling overseas of late for work and enjoying it.......mental note though, make sure you take your passport into Palestine although a quick flash of a NSW drivers license will suffice. :D
