I'll wait to give my opinion on this. I don't think this is a simple player swap. I feel after the Buddy Franklin disaster GWS are going to give the good old "can't walk on us like a door mat" scenario and demand some sort of pick aswell which could ruin the other deals that are clearly in our gun atm.

Tend to disagree.

GWS have nothing to gain being hard asses with other clubs when it comes to trading.

Don't forget that it is in their best interest as well to try and strike deals for experienced quality players, why would they want to develop a reputation being being pricks amongst other clubs?

Won't happen, both GWS and Collingwood will gain a "win-win" deal once it goes through.

If it was that simple, the deal would already be announced. Dont think they run on 9-5 deadlines. Shaw has agreed on a deal, it was reported last week that Adams has agreed on a deal. What would be the hold up?

Shaw only made his decision tonight.

Pies would have been in communication with his manager to get a feel for where things were at, if they suspected Shaw to Geelong they'd have given up pick 11 already.

Who know, maybe it was Collingwood who wanted to drive the harder bargain?

We will know once the trade is complete.

Either way we will have Adams and 2 x first round picks with a chance to secure White and possibly others with lesser picks.

I'm inclined to think we are the stronger bargaining position here. After the Franklin humiliation GWS will not be wanting to be embarrassed again by not getting their man.

Particularly when they've already gone and announced the recruitment of Shaw on their official website.

Are you sure it is swap of third round picks?

I can't understand why GWS would down grade their third round in a Shaw/Adams trade unless they are trying to get on our good side, long term.

or they desperately want Heath and also don't rate the draft past the top 30.

Doesn't really effect them tbh.

Teammates nicknamed him Bull, or The Bull, because that's they way he goes about getting the ball. Tough as nails. Hate to see him go. You've done well with this one.
Perfect!

So for the next year or two (maybe more), we'll have Ball and Bull in our midfield. Throw Elliott into the rotations and we'll get a Bill in there as well...

(I was going to suggest nicknaming the kid 'Family', but Bull is more of a fitting footy moniker...)

Hope so. I guess GWS do not plan to use their 3rd round pick, so they swap with us, we can then on trade to Sydney for White pick 35 (will drift out to 39 or 40).
This leaves us with 27 (30) for some other deal or for the draft (Garlett).
My guess is if we manage to get Adams & White without giving up our second round draft pick, we'll use it to obtain Henderson from the Crows. According to the weekend media Adelaide want our second rounder for Henderson, and we're not necessarily against paying that but we've prioritised Adams & White ahead of him and may need that pick for one of them.

Not only will Adams replace Ball he will get his expert tutelage for a couple of years and play as a tandem. I think Josh T is also shaping up well as a Swanny replacement in his own way.

In say GWS and Pies have had Talks about Possible Trade with GWS Showing Intrest Last Week.

This should be done by in 48 Hour as the Longest.

It should be an easy Trade:

Pies: Adams + GWS 3rd Round Pick

GWS: Heater + Pies 2nd Round Pick

Are you guys expecting him to play much in the next year or two? I just see him behind, Beams, Ball, Pendles and Swan...
