It is starting to be a worry for you guys with indigenous players.
Relton roberts, Tambling, Taylor, krakeour, peterson...all got out.
Part of that will be not having the coin in recruiting to go out & talk to people on the ground, find out what these kids are really like, and what the risk they won't fit in really is.

almost chocked on my kebab over here....troy needs space give him space one last chance but surely we need a decision on his future soon

No he has had his last chance already. Alright say we do give him another chance what happens when he says oh i have to go back home for personal reasons. That would be X time wasted on him and time lost on another young up and coming player. Its no longer funny anymore we gave him a shot and he screwed it up. If i was Richmond i would make sure it was a ONE way Ticket

It's getting old. Might be time to just let him go (and then watch him come back in a year or two and become a good player for Collingwood).

My thoughts exactly.

I almost got the impression that the Club copied and pasted the press release the last time he left.

See ya Troy, Hello the Irish Gun!

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully this is the last of this sort of stuff. Goodbye Taylor hello Contin.

Well done, ******** of the week I say. Maybe he should go to North it would be very similar to the lifestyle in the NT, no one there watching him ply his trade making him feel uncomfortable and the added comfort of knowing that if at the end of the year he decides not to go on it won't ruffle feathers because the club won't be going on either :thumbsu:

Another bloke that will leave and become a superstar.

I reckon at Collingwood.

They will get him for sure.

Music and beer was invented for Richmond supporters I ****ing swear.

Really had hope for this bloke.

BS world.

Very surprised at some of the responses on here. I don't think people realise how tough it would be for some of the indigenous boys to adapt to the change in lifestyle and being away from family. And as for this recruitment, yes he was a massive risk but that is why someone of his talent dropped so low.

Spot on. He would be the player i get to replace Taylor. Atleast he will make the most of his chances of making it to the list of a club.

Disappointing news, but sometimes people just aren't cut out for the big time.
Stephen Oliver comes to mind. Brilliant talent, Carlton lured him to the AFL and he went back to Castlemaine.

Of course we understand all that, dont assume we are all idiots. He has shown twice now he isnt up to it mentally so why bother with the kid gloves. Their are around 10% indigenous players in the league and the vast majority appear to handle it, so using the cultural excuse is just plain crap.

At least they don't hang around. Daniel Wells was a No 2 pick and still clogging up your list.

I think the club needs to stick by him.... delisting him now is plain stupid if there is a chance of turning him around, he will occupy a spot on the lis no matter what. Sure he has issues but we dont really know the full story.

I also think the club is looking pretty bad with it's record with Aboriginal players... Tambling had a good head on him... but other than him we have had a terrible record.
Mcgrath, Peterson, Collard, Roberts, Gilligan, and now Taylor.

So you understand the cultural issues but it is just plain crap?

Could not of said it better myself.

Just because a player has potential does not mean we can let them piss fart around with us. I can understand a player saying he is " home sick" or personal issues once. However looks as though there is a pattern happening here which we must put a stop to.

This is probably a continuation of the problem that saw him come back late. We still don't know what that was, so it's hard to make a judgement, i.e. is it something the club believes will be sorted out this year?

Having said that, he's got at most till the end of the year to show the club that he still wants an AFL career.

Had such high hopes for this guy :mad::mad:.

It would be interesting to know if there are measures other clubs are putting in place to help indigenous players settle in to their new life. Or have some of the recruitments just been of high risk.

Can someone please explain to me what cutting him from our list is going to achieve that can't be achieved by giving him time . His axing from the list ain't going to change anything till the end of the season !
We axe him and some will say we didn't support him , he walks we look like the club that gave a youth a chance .
I support making list decisions when the list can be adjusted to assist the club but making them for no upside and potential lost makes no sense to me ?
Nothing at all until October.

Way to leniant IMO the odds of this relationship working are slim.

Mcgrath, Peterson, Collard, Roberts, Gilligan, and now Taylor.

These blokes we took were all risks and u can even through jarrad oakley-nicholls into that catergorie.... i mean its not like the majority of these blokes were taken in the top 10 they were taken as late picks by the club hoping they could unearth a player like jurrah etc. i no thsi is a generalisation but the majority of indigenous players across the afl have not performed to expectation or ended up off a list...

look at buddy he has had one super season but yet been inconsistent in others, cyril went home at first to get his head right, daniel wells all this talent but still has performed to expectation, tambling the same. Mcgrath at brisbane, hooper at the hawks and brisbane. Geelong has varcoe given abletts number and yet is still inconsistent and whose to say this skinner bloke at the dogs is going to be a success.
Krakouer was delisted because we had to get rid of him and the guy has made an effort to get his life on track. We knew when recruiting guys like talyor, collard, peterson etc they were going to be hard work.
You can look at the majority of lists and see that a high number and for the most part the majority of indigenous players dont make it... why is that?? well that is something the clubs and afl need to look into.

Talyor has more talent in his little finger then a lot of the richmond list but if he is not committed to the cause then why bother with him its a real shame but like another poster said, give a game to a player that is desperate to play such as pat contin a go. He may not have all the talent in the world but what he doesnt have in talent he'll make up with heart.

Did Peterson and McGrath have questions regarding their off-field behavoir & past behaviour before they were drafted? I honestly can't remember for sure but i have this idea there were concerns about them.

Taylor would make the 3rd aboriginal we have drafted with questionable work ethic and discipline, lazy and uninterested, mentally weak individual who can't stay off certain indulgences.

Delist and move on, get some more disciplined, hard working, good bred players in like King

If it wasn't for the club he would be in gaol and since then he has now walked out twice if thats how he wants it then he can piss off and not come back.

We took a chance on a talented kid with issues we knew that going into it and whilst he has been given a chance that a lot of other kids don't get he doesn't seem to be willing to take it. At least it was not an early pick we wasted on him.

I wish him all the best but Richmond should cut him claim he is insane and ask to promote a rookie due to his mental injury. At the least he should be told he decides by the end of this week if not then he is finished.

Mmm, good one. Attack the man when your argument is weak.

I forgot gilligan, Mcgrath and Oakley Nichols-bury your head if you like but it is a long list of disgruntled indigeneous players who your club have failed to keep.

A long list. Who wil be the poster boy for the dreamtime game now?
