Up to track 7, and I am really enjoying this as a concept. No huge stand outs but the vibe and sonic cohesion makes it. No surprise the reviewers are loving it so far, even if I think this will take a while to grow on me. Think this is another successful genre change for Tay that sceptics will begrudgingly give credit for.

The Lana Del Rey collaboration did not disappoint.

With the 3am edition, wonder how long until that one arrives in stores. Sort of glad I held off on pre-ordering, I can wait for the full 20 tracks on CD.

Had the opposite view - thought the first 13 were more similar.

In any event, a good first listen, will probably grow on me, I appreciate the genre change (again). Like that she's willing to try new things and not just keep cashing in on what she did best. Nice to listen to in the late evening and some clever lyrics. Not as immediately hooked into it like with folklore.

Would've could've should've is also excellent and also hurts.

I also enjoyed the album, Karma has some type of drug in it that makes me go feral when the chorus hits.

I do like the Dessner tracks, sometimes Antonoff's production drowns out the vocals where as Dessner's enhances it.
 
For those that are into charts Taylor has scored her 10th no.1 on the aria charts. This places her only behind

U2 and Jimmy Barnes with 14 no.1 albums and Madonna with 12 no.1 albums

Taylor scored her 9th no.1 single which places her behind;

The Beatles 22 no.1 singles
Elvis 14 no.1 singles
Madonna 11 no.1 singles
Rihanna and Kylie 10 no.1 singles

Taylor Is equal with Pink and Delta Goodrem with 9 no.1 singles.

In terms of top 10 singles Taylor is second out of female artists. She has now 35 top 10 singles behind Madonna who has 40!

Taylor Is easily the biggest female artist and probably the biggest artist for the last 5 years

Biggest female artist atm but not all time. Madonna, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Britney Spears peaks were much bigger but times are different now where due to streaming artists like Taylor and drake can have all there 10 songs on the charts.

Imagine how many hits would Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Beatles and Elvis would of had

Perhaps. But there is no guarantee that MJ, Beatles or Elvis would've occupied the entire top 10 or part of it at one time.

I accept your opinion, but how many records does Taylor Swift have left to break in order to qualify as biggest female artist of all time? Do you think she would not have been as successful if she was around at the time when physical vinyl and CDs were king?

She's scooped the accolades like entire Billboard Top 10, most number 1s by a female solo artist, longest song to hit number 1, most Albums of the Year at the Grammys (yes, lolgrammys I know) by a female artist etc.

She is definitely in contention for one of the most popular and influential artists of recent times.

actually you make a good point, as does gopies. If there's cause to support the classic legends of music achieving himalayan heights in 2022, then the script can be flipped where Taylor does all sorts of unspeakable things to the billboard charts of the 60s-70s

Well if she becames the highest selling female recording artist of all time then I guess she will be the biggest of all time.

The biggest female artist of all time in my opinion is Madonna who has sold 335 million records worldwide. Taylor Is currently about 100 million behind Madonna.

I guess in terms of physical albums and singles we will never know I guess she would but really her only real competition is Beyonce. Music has changed so much and really the quality of music now just ain’t what it use to be. Again my opinion.

Actually Taylor does not have the most no.1 singles out of female solo artists. She is behind Mariah Carey (19 no.1’s), Rihanna (14), Madonna (12), Whitney (11) and Janet Jackson (10).

If you are talking about albums of the billboard chart then yes it’s Taylor

All good. Music is subjective and I respect your viewpoint.

I think she has decisively eclipsed Beyonce now though given latest sales, awards and charting trends.

I agree. Taylor Is differently the it girl of the moment. Like Madonna and Whitney were in the 80’s, Mariah and Celine in the 90’s, Brittany in the 00’s, Rihanna, Taylor and Adele in the 10’s and Taylor in the 20’s
