Think I’m gonna cry

apparently this is the schedule...

“The Eras Tour | The Final Show” : December 12
The End Of An Era” (Docuseries):
December 12 (Ep. 1 & 2)
December 19 (Ep. 3 & 4)
December 26 (Ep. 5 & 6)

My top 10

1. Welcome To New York
2. Red
3. Last Great American Dynasty
4. State of Grace
5. Invisible String
6. Cruel Summer
7. Life of a Showgirl
8. the 1
9. Opalite
10. So High School

in terms of her best songs, I think New Year's Day is incredibly underrated and has to be in the upper echelon of her songs.

Pound for pound this album is almost her strongest for me in terms of how many tracks I genuinely like and wouldn't skip. Lover is also excellent, as is 1989, but I think I like the tracks I don't love more than I do on those other albums.

Lover is outstanding, and we have spoken in depth about it before. While there is no theme to the album, that does not bother me. The tracks are brilliant.

5 of the first 6 tracks on 1989 are absolutely outstanding. All You Had To Do Is Stay is the weak link (for me). Those others, woah!

Bad Blood (the original) is ****ing excellent. The song has swagger and attitude.

All Too Well undoubtedly is her best song, not my favourite, but it's her best without question.

I like New Romantics, but number 2? Not for me.

I am not as familiar with her catalogue as you, Blank Space (for example), which I love, I don't think it's a top 10 song, personally. As with a lot of the others.

Eldest Daughter is the strongest song off Showgirl for me.

Never liked Bad Blood tbh, I got what she was going for but it was too petty for me. And yes, the first half of 1989 is very difficult to top. That was peak Taylor for me even with Bad Blood.

All Too Well is a fine song, don't get me wrong, belongs on every top 10 list and I understand why it's first, but I'm gonna be a hipster and say I prefer the tighter writing and production of August. That is in my view the finest song off Folklore - as a whole, though, Folklore is easily her best album by some margin. I was super glad that it won Album of the Year at the Grammys.

I can understand Blank Space being top 10 (even if personally I prefer Style) due to the massive influence it had.

I really like the acoustic stuff, folklore has some brilliant songs.

Dorothea is great, Mirrorball, Peace, Betty, and obviously the ones I mentioned in my list.

I truly love Dorothea, the melody is magic.

August is good, but I like those others more.

Dorothea is on Evermore but I see what you mean.

Start to finish, Folklore is unmatched in my view. All killer, no filler as they say. Hoax and Seven are often considered weaker efforts but I still like both.

part of me is hoping for a live album release on the 13th Dec ;)

I have mixed feelings, I'm obviously not nor never been TS's target audience. But haven't fully enjoyed her music after RED. I just have to accept that we're not meant to be :( lol. I also have some thoughts about her marketing practices (not just the whole buy 4-8 copies of the same album in different "coverings" to get access to every track). The cynic in me feels that she probably could have purchased the rights to her back catalog without needing to re-record Taylor's Versions of them On the flipside I'm surprised she hasn't done Fearless: Accoustic Edition or "death metal" editions to further milk the well dry (I'd be interested in hearing different interpretations at least).

I know it kick started things with others - Bryan Adams re-recorded a lot of his "hits" for much the same reasons (regaining control of his music). Michelle Branch did a 20th anniversary recording of "The Spirit Room".

I'm more surprised at there not being more done in regards of giving fans chances to see more of her concerts. I mean it seems like an eternity ago but Bruce Springsteen had audio versions of a lot of his gig's for sale online. But yeah I just think it's a missed opportunity, release more concerts for people to buy instead of stream!

Ah, apologies.

Yeah it's very strong. Obviously two tracks from that are in my top five, and three in my top 10.

What did you think of my list?

Everyone has their own opinions, we're more similar than you think in my view.

Are these your favourites or what you think are her best? There is a significant difference.

My faves, but it could be what i think are her best. Maybe

That doesn't tell me what you think about my list lol.

Surprise? Eyebrow raisers? Firm agreeement etc

No real eyebrow raises lol. There will always be differences but relatively minor imo. They are all worthy even if personally some like Welcome to New York won't make my top 50, it's still terrific.

Just a bit hahaha.

Do you like (m)any of my 10?
Of course! I love Life of a Showgirl, the 1, Opalite and So High School. I did love Cruel Summer but I absolutely thrashed it over and over so it’s a skip for me now 😂.

Same question back to you on my list.
