isnt he too young to be rookied?
Yes he is which is why Iam puzzled by the media report.

I can only assume he was mis-reported?

Rookie camp after ND? ......his attendance at this a waste .....but can you have a camp b4 the ND .....I thought not?

Sign him up and with development he could be a ready made replacement for Welsh upon his departure. Similar height/build, got some skills. Hopefully a more reliable body though...

Actually he's shaping as more of a key forward option, being 190cm tall now and almost certainly going to get a bit taller. Of course it's all a matter of getting him here and assessing the entire package. Could be anything.

West Coast and Sydney have both annouced their intention to rookie list and draft (respectively) their Schoalrship holders...

So ending up about 192-193 cms? Obviously got goal sense, he's a future full forward for sure. Whether or not country league stardom at 17 can translate to AFL stardom against decent competition is another story. Hopefully he ends up at a decent SANFL club who gives him the opportunity to hold down FF, whether its at reserves or seniors level.

Going by their track record with developing AFL talent, I would be seriously hoping that Walker ends up at the Eagles. You know that Fuller will give him game time and develop him into a good player.

He would also be playing in a winning team where he would get some reasonable service and opportunities to kick some goals.

:thumbsu: or you could go down the track of going to Westies because they don't have any forwards, but they are shite and he would probably quit football rather quickly.

I guess the best club is the one without a genuine full forward at senior level. Don't know who that is (the eagles are pretty well set in that area aren't they) but I've got a really good feeling about this kid and what he can do for the crows going forward.

Can you say FAST TRACK!?

Yer, and they'd play him in the ruck like Tippett.

I sense a new thread brewing.

Adelaide VS Port Adelaide in the way that they deal with their SANFL stocks. Adelaide being the p!ssy "Do as you see fit with them" method, Port being the "Iron Fist, at the games talking to their players at the breaks, moving players from clubs who don't meet their demands" method.

I'll tee it up.

Send him to the Bays. Put him on the FF line with Jimmy at CHF so they can get used to working together :thumbsu:

And the Crows don't move their players, Matty Clarke changed clubs due to lack of opportunity in 05, Jericho moved this year, I think both Matty Smith and Aiden Parker changed clubs at some stage whilst on our lists. I think there might be another 1 or 2 recently, just can't remember.

Ian Perrie, Brent Reilly to name a couple more that come to mind ...

True, but I refer more to the demands the crows place on the SANFL clubs to play players in certain positions, which are none. Port are very ruthless when it comes to this.

And Matty Clarke is a clear exception there. We're talking about one of the best tap ruckmen of his era being played in South Adelaide's reserves because South didn't want to upset their team balance. Look at Ryan Willits for port. Only a 2nd/3rd year player who was obviously not performing and deservedly so was in Glenelg's reserves. The bays wouldn't play him where port wanted him to play (and yet, he's always looked like a much better defender than forward) and he was moved on to westies.

While I don't recall the Parker or Smith cases (who cares anyway) I don't believe Jericho moved from westies for lack of opportunity or positional disputes with the crows.

Started out at the Port Magpies. Lasted a season before being transferred;)
I think you have him confused with Matthew Smith ;)

I am certain that in his very first year on our list Reilly was playing Sturt reserves and there was talk that he could ask for transfer because he was in best players week in week out but couldn't get a senior game. The Blues picked him into the senir side eventually and in about 3-4 weeks he made his debut for us against St. Kilda after coming in for injured Kane Johnson. Looked like a fish out of water in his first and only game for the year.

Pretty sure he was always alligned to Sturt.

I'm with you Stiffy - Reilly was always aligned with Sturt.

Macca23's favourite player started out with the black and whites :D

Let me assure you that the red-headed physical dyslectic did start with the Port Magpies. :D

Macca19 used to write weekly reports on just how unlikely a footballer he looked from the word go.

It took the AFC 5 years to finally come to the same conclusion. :D
