Nice to see the club website finally get with the times :p

Sorry but we were waiting for some photos of Taylor from the game to be sent to us from Broken Hill (and I've been in footy meetings all this morning :(). But where in the threads does it say he was voted BOG?

PS: Hi Fred Phillis. We know who you are!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the update on afc, glad he has got some recognition there!
We didn't know he was voted BOG in the granny on saturday, it's news to us!

Hope this guy hits 192cm at least *fingers crossed*

Im curious, how would the Broken Hill league compare to the SANFL reserves? Our 1st draft pick is playing average footy in that league and he is supposed to be our great white hope.

The fact Walker has kicked goals regularly at every level he has played means he must have something. Not many players kick goals as regularly as he does.
the broken hill league is not that great my brother used to play in it and he's pritty average

Walker stars in Broken Hill decider

Would have thought there's not a whole lot to consider.

I saw this story too. I think the mere fact that they are highlighting his efforts all point to a spot on the senior list or at least a rookie position. They obviously know us crow natives are getting restless and they are just letting us know that he is very much on their radar. Honestly if this bloke doesn't get drafted what will the point of pursuing this scholarship thing in the future. I don't think you could ask for more than what he has delivered.

How come we are so good at finding kids like this but cant use a first round pick to save ourselves.

Too young for rookie listing in 2007. Our options at this stage are to promote him to the senior list or extend his "cadetship" for another year. My guess is he'll be a member of our senior list in 2008.

I suspect you are right. He is obviously dominating in Broken Hill and has done very well in the TAC Cup games and in the U18 Championships. He is at the point where he is too good for the league he is playing in and the only way for him to develop further is to get into a stronger league. So he would be better off even playing in SANFL reserves next year because it would likely be a step up from the Broken Hill league.

Good call. Whilst it is obvious the boy can play, we will have a better idea to see where he is at when he plays in the SANFL (be it seniors or ressies).

also would get him a full preseason at a professional club, which can only help him at this stage start to get his body ready.

the league in broken hill is of a good standard....if you look at the morrish medal results the no 1 pick kreuzer won with 19 votes and taylor only played 3 games and polls 6 !

He was primarily an onballer and has played at centrehalfback...all in all he has kicked goals.... 17 in 3 TAC games.....13 at Aust Champs.....45 in broken hill in 8 games and still growing.

At this stage a lot further advanced and versatile then brnt staker when he left here at the same at age 5 years ago

Sorry, I don't get this point. In the three weeks that NSW/ACT played in the TAC Cup Kreuzer polled seven votes. If you isolate the three weeks that Taylor played in the TAC Cup the Kreuzer still had him beat. :p

Haha, but my point was that texasjack seemed to loosely be comparing our Texas Ranger to Matthew Kreuzer. We're definitely getting great value with him though but they shouldn't really be mentioned in the same sentence. :thumbsu:

Not comparing him to KREUZER...JUST SAYING THAT HE PLAYED ALL SEASON...18 GAMES AND POLLED 19 VOTES YET WALKER PLAYED 3 AND POLLED 6 VOTES....SO MUST HAVE CAUGHT THE EYE OF THE PANEL !!!!!!

if the texas ranger kept up his average and played the same ammount of games as mr.Vodka he would have polled 36 votes.

36 VOTES FOR THE TEXAS RANGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :thumbsu:

I had a horse that raced in the same race as Makybe Diva and it finished last and was a pretty average racehorse. Does that make Makybe Diva a pretty average horse?

Barrie Robran used to play in the Whyalla league and my mate did also and he was a pretty poor footballer. Does that make Barrie Robran a poor footballer?

Neil Kerley played for Koolymilka and that was a pretty poor league.

I could go on but what a stupid comment!!

I played in RFL U/18 - SO did Roo - lucky the useless bastard is retiring :D

I think the brightest point, is this is not some Victorian kid that we have to stress about developing and then takes off in 4-5 years

This kid Is a passionate Crows supporter who WANTS to come here and WANTS to play for the AFC

A key point
