Disappointed to hear that, but did he know you were DanWA from BigFooty? That might explain it.
Nah

1 of the encounters was a function post a Cockburn Collingwood game and i was rocking Collingwood gear, that could have got him arked up or he was just buzzing on nose beers

He can't return. I'm sick of it as well. If you had said that about a colleague in an office environment you'd be out the door the same day.

It's not just only racist behaviour. I'm sick of people treating others like shit and thinking a sorry the next day sorts everything out... until they do it the next time.

It might be possible to stamp out the sorry the next day, but good luck with stopping people treating others like shit.

That is homo sapiens doing what homo sapiens do.

We're a nasty little species, and filling swimming polls full of millennial crocodile tears changes that not one whit.

Agreed, it will never happen. I hate the sorry the next day. Give it a month and they'll be saying the same thing again.

That's the difficult bit.
We have to accept that it will sometimes happen (and have a mechanism for punishment when it does) while also showing zero tolerance towards the behaviour.

Good luck with that too.

"The people like us" principle is deeply embedded in human societies - in fact without "people like us" and "people not like us" underpinning the mechanisms that bind even strangers together in one nation or society we'd be limited to a society of 50 or so individuals we know personally, like chimps are.

It has been demonstrated repeatedly in the last couple of hundred years that what "people like us" means can change with time to bring outsiders in. But the process is glacially slow and requires a deep emotional acceptance. It may be possible for that to be educated into certain individuals, but it can not be educated into the amorphous mob.

And - I can not think of a single example where applying a stick instead of dangling the carrot has contributed to broadening the meaning of "people like us" at all.

Any discrimination employment policy?
Moot point in this thread as two of those words are too long for Tex to pronounce.

Ironic that Nova Peris has called for Tex to be sacked coming from someone who got her political job under dubious circumstances and used tax payers money to fly her boyfriend from America so they could do the Tim tam thing

Where is the irony?

That is just about the best post on big footy I’ve read for quite sometime.

It's pathetic more flogs feel sorry for Texy than the poor bloke he abused.

Wealthy, boast - say what..?
We lived in a tiny house, I shared a room with my younger sister for most of my childhood, we all attended public schools, I was the first child in our family to leave the state in 1978! We had a scrawny backyard with a Hills hoist, a rabbit cage and one Christmas Dad and mates installed one of those plactic lined above ground swimming pools that used to collapse every time you leant of the thin metal surround, yeah real luxury lifestyle stuff! I mean we were barely middle class - sorry if my posts have somehow been interpreted otherwise.
FYI, the block next door was essentially a gift and our holiday shack was a run down rat infested timber structure with an outside toilet and my older sister slept in the car during our first few visits, such was it's 'comfort'...

But my main point remains; if a women had a steady job and a level of financial independence then securing a loan was generally not a difficult task - and I'm not sure what/how the politics or the related policies of the day had any tangible influence with financial intuitions assessment of risk...?

Get a load of Little Lord Fauntleroy here... talk about being born with a silver spoon in your mouth!

Why back in my day, we’d have been glad to have had a rat-infested shack to live in. And don't get me started on a car!

Etc.

Yes of course, a fairly accurate modern depiction of my childhood here:

Technically he didn't abuse him, he said something about him not to his face

That's almost worse in many respects. Totally gutless and reprehensible from Tex.
