So can someone tell me, as it stands now, what the ruling is on these NSW/ACT guys, when we can pick him up and with what pick ?
Rookie List or we can use our last selection of the National Draft

He DEFINITELY can't be rookie listed. First of all, I don't believe the rules would let anyone take any nominate a rookie selection for a NSW scholarship player. Second of all, you have to be a certain age to get rookie listed. Taylor Walker is 17 and doesn't even qualify for the rookie list because he's too young.
And yes, this has been done five times over.![]()
We can't rookie list him this year because he is a bottom age player.I didn't think we could rookie list him.
I'm sure this subject has been done about 5 times over.
We can't rookie list him this year because he is a bottom age player.
We basically signed him up to a 2 year "sponsorship". This year he is a bottom age player so we can nominate him to be picked with our last pick in the National Draft. Since he is a bottom age player he just doesn't qualify for a rookie list full stop.
So we can draft him to the senior list this year, or we can keep him as a development player for another year and then either rookie list him next year or pick him up in the National Draft.
I am pretty sure he can go into the draft this year if he wants to opt out of the "sponsorship" deal he has with us if we are refusing to pick him this year and he believes he will get drafted by another AFL club.
Might want to proof read that post crows98.
As he was AA under 18 he would be pretty talented and one would expect him to be highly sort after. If he is a top 30 pick and we can grab him with a pick in the 70’s we would be mental not to do it this season.

What rape? Not too offensive I dont reckon.Well it's slightly offensive (the misspelled word not the quote button) so I didn't bother.
We've got him covered, so why draft him this year when we can draft, or rookie him, next year? He's 17, so let's face it, he won't be playing any senior AFL footy next year anyway.
The only way the club would draft him this year is if:
a) he opts out of the scholarship and nominates himself for the draft; or
b) the club thinks it would assist his development by taking him sooner rather than later - training at the Crows and being allocated a SANFL club rather than continuing in Broken Hill.
That's a decision the club will probably make with him and his family.
You're right - I was watching some draft stuff and started to make a list up in my head of the players the Crows could do with - had about six or seven names....and they're all projected to be gone by the end of the second round. There's no reason not to take a gamble on Walker with our last pick; I mean as you point out it couldn't be any worse than listing Alan Obst surely?
As an added bonus, it would probably annoy Port no end for us to have an Ebert on our list - then again, no worse than them having two Cornes' on their list.
I beg to differ. I am not sorry in the slightest that we don't have the Cornes boys. They belong to Port Adelaide as they fit in down there - ie they are nuf nufs.
Hoepfully Graham will declare his allegiance to them soon and we can be rid of the whole family, as they all annoy me to varying degrees.
Us having Brad Ebert however would annoy the living #$%* out of the Port Power mob. Doubt he will slip to our frist pick though.
