Apparently Essendon and Collingwood (see essendon board) are very interested in him and i was thinking that we should make a massive play for him also. He is only 18 or 19 and looks to be a gun forward after he has dominated at SANFL level and kicked bags of 4 and 5 against the dogs and hawks. Witht he crows emerging forward line i reckon he might find it hard to get a regular game next year and he would almost be the perfect fit for us. Interested to hear others thoughts on this

Would love to get him though will be priced well above his worth. Crows will need to hold onto him with Burton likely to pull stumps in near future and Tippet likely to at least look at a GC contract.

I would nearly say he will be untouchable this trade period.

I wouldnt get your hopes up. This story originally appeared in the Adelaide Sunday Mail (which is basically a piss weak Sunday edition of the Adelaide Advertiser) before Fox Sports blew the article up interstate and on the net.

Taylor signed a 2 year contract extension in June, is highly regarded at the Crows and wont be traded.

Sorry to disappoint

Why would u guys pay over the odds for Walker when you have Watts? Also could/probably will get Butcher. I think Melbourne will be a very good club in 3-4 years. Scully, Watts, Jurruah, Butcher/Trengrove

Hey AjsGuns. I think the consensus around here is A) we'll take Trengove, and B) Watts will be great but he's probably going to play a fare way from home (the goalsquare) alot of the time, and same with Jurrah. A stay at home type (or another tall like Carlisle) would give us a pretty good balance and give us another option/free up Jurrah and Watts to play up the ground.

Any chance you guys will pass on Panos and let him through to us??

There is a reason Walker isn't in the side he is a one way player, ie he has no defensive pressure when the ball is turned over and he has always been like it.

The strong rumor doing the rounds is you guys have been in Dawesy's ear and he is considering asking for a trade, I will be shattered if Collingwood let him go.

I wouldn't mind snaring Dawes, big unit KPF and the beard makes me want him more.

Just don't want Bryan (I think it's Bryan) because his attempt at a beard is an insult to other bearded folk.

Collingwood do have a bunch of young key forwards: Reid, Dawes, Rusling and Anthony.

Has Dawes done enough to warrant pick 18?

No.

He clearly has some ability and potential, but I really wouldn't even consider trading 18 for him.

Reid is another interesting player, I wouldn't mind the club chasing him.

We wouldn't be able to get Dawes with anything less than 18 though.

I'm not overly keen on him though, Reid is probably a better option.

Hugely over estimating his worth. He looks good at VFL level but AFL he struggles to make an impact, furthermore he was drafted like pick 28 or something, so i would think if we were to get him PSD is likely or 3rd/4th round.

Chris Dawes
Drafted at 28 in 06 draft, knee reco ruined his 07.
Last year 6 games including 2 finals.
This year 4 games, 5 goals and more than 10 touches in each game (however was playing back up ruckman for a few of those games)

Dawes is decent but I wouldn't be offering more than pick 34 for him.
I agree, gambling with pick 18 for the best tall forward available at that pick (or the best player left) is worth it. But if we snagged Dawes for pick 34 I'd be happy. He's a young key forward who hasn't set the world on fire but unlike Newton he doesn't seem to be fundamentally flawed!
