Been hearing things aren't going to well at Adelaide & rumors floating around that he will be leaving at the end of the season for a fresh start at a new club.

If GWS weren't to snatch him what club would be interested?

I know Carlton would definitely be keen.

Do you think your club would be interested?

I'd be keen but wary.

Can he learn to play at Full Forward but still be a team player?
Appears very selfish on the field. I'd have a chat to him though.

Agreed. Taylor does not look for a team mate when he is within 55m of goal, he simply looks at the goals and fires.

He is one of the most talented players I've seen, yet he is the most selfish player.

These are the options with Walker.

Neil Craig goes, Taylor Walker stays.
Neil Craig stays, He signs with Adelaide for 2012, then trade him to GWS for one of GWS' last 1st round picks
Neil Craig stars, He doesn't sign with Adelaide, goes to GWS as an out of contract player, and we get a tier 3 compensation (end of 2nd round pick?)

#2 is unlikely, but he does love Adelaide (just doesn't like Craig) so he might do it to repay us for giving him the chance to play footy when 15 other clubs passed on him in the NSW scholarship plan

still?
are you saying he's currently a team player?
geeze, open your eyes!
He's one of the least team orientated players in the league!

goals > team play.

just get him the ball and let him have a shot. stuff this tackles inside 50 crap. he's our leading goal kicker. him not running and chasing is not the reason why.

he would be getting 70 goals a year at geelong.

Would be the perfect target for GWS, a young talented FF with a lot of upside and YEARS left on the clock. They'd be stupid not to make an offer for him.

Adelaide might as well cash in at the end of the season, and if there's any truth to the rumour Walker wants out if Craig stays then this seems likely to happen.

700K a year. GWS.

That's my mail.

Fox Sports just showed him at the Port v Freo game sinking piss with a bunch of mates. Doesn't look like the commitment is there and appears gone from Adelaide at season's end.

Yep saw that. To say the footage was pretty average is an understatement.

Besides possibly Fev, what kind of moron would be silly enough to do that knowing there are going to be cameras around?

Because he's the first player to ever drink a beer. Please, he played Friday night, and the crows are interstate. Has no recovery session today, and somehow I think he'll be right for Monday when he rejoins the club. Was watching his broken hill mates in a curtainraiser, and had a quiet beer with friends. Let's put this into perspective please.

AFC has already come out and said it was a non issue.

As for going to GWS, hard to tell. Go home factor is non existent. Always followed the crows, and went out of his way to ensure he was signed by them. Only reason he'd leave would be for more dollars, or to play under a different coach, which is possible.

My opinion? He'll re-sign with the crows and get payed a lot more than hes worth. Time will tell however.

He's talented but underperforming.

Some of the Adelaide fans sit firmly in the "my favourite player was just dropped, sack the coach" basket, and those same fans then both fuel and create most of the rumours regarding angst and departure - certain employees of a certain Adelaide newspaper have been caught lifting entire sentences and paragraphs from the AFC and PAFC boards, let alone story ideas and "prevailing supporter attitudes", time and time again.

If Walker were to be handled the way his very loud fan club wanted, he'd be only a drinking and gambling problem short of Brendan Fevola mk II - but they, with stars in their eyes, will never be able to see it that way.

one of the most redicolous things i've seen footy related. getting slammed for having a beer.

**** off. things are just been taken too far.

i'm almost too the point where i want it to go back to the old days where the players just get loose we can all have a laugh at some of the stories that come out in the wash...

steve johnson (or a guy that looks incredibly like steve johnson) comes into the members bars at the MCG regularly.

It's funny the pressure being put on, and crap being written, about a recently turned 21 year old key postion player!
I believe at the same age, a guy called Wayne Carey had played approx. ZERO games! Look what happened to him.
Taylor has played 38 games and kicked a few goals here and there. Well ahead in his developement I would say. Now he is working on his defencesive side of the game.
Lets wait two or three more years to see how he develops before jumping all over his back, and blaming his coach for not playing him.

Rhett Bighlands reported this in the media about a month ago. Hardly mail.

$700k for a 21 year old key forward who is nothing without a decent midfield feeding him. I find it hard to believe he is being offered this amount of cash, taking up capspace. If Walker gets no supply he is a $700k paperweight. However it is Sheedy and Choco in charge so anything can happen.

GC have spent their money on defenders and mids. These areas are the basis for a successfull side. They drafted quality talls/forwards. They have paid $1.5+ for Gaz and then about $700-800 for next group of players in Bock, Rishitelli Brown etc.

$700k for Walker would put him up as one of the highest paid player in the team. A waste if you cant get good quality mids. I dont see another Gary Ablett floating around anywhere.
