Priddis from west coast was tackled very similarly tonight, was concussed and subbed out.

Commentators think its nothing to worry about. I see Tex's the same

The buzz word these days is 'duty of care'. That is what should have Walker done differently. In my view he could have released him a little earlier. But releasing a tackle goes against the fabric of the game.

That could be significant.

Was it one of the Bombers favourites who laid the tackle? AFL have no interest in hampering one if its major money spinners.

Could be Tex's get out of jail free card.

it's a fine line for sure. no player should get rubbed out for a textbook tackle, (and thats what it was. arms pinned, there was no spear, no lifting of the opponents, no double action, just brought the player to ground.) but Taylor's head hit the ground so now we spin the balls and wait and see what number comes up.

I think he's gone, the mrp will determine that Tex had already successfully tackled a standing Harry Taylor and there was no need for Walker to take him down to the ground which they will argue was the secondary motion.

I hope I'm wrong but I smell a two week suspension coming up.

I really feel like people on the board have lost the plot - it was the perfect tackle - arms pinned, no slinging action, bring the player to the ground with as much force as you can (anyone who has played footy would know this).

I don't know how you can say he had successfully tackled him already, he still had the bloody footy - unless you want all our players to give the opposition a nice warm hug and let go??

The head hitting the ground was just incidental, if for some absurd reason he gets cited then we would have to fight it - it is no worse than that incident from the Hawthorn game early in the season where Whitecross was going for the footy and hit someone high, he managed to get off afterwards as well.

stupid thread at this point of time

Tex should not be reported for the following reasons

1. The sling tackle is defined as a tackle with a secondary movement, Tex's tackle was continuous

2. Taylor did not release the ball so Tex is well within his rights to bring Taylor to the ground

3. Taylor was not injured and was able to play on

enough said close thread
Minor incident will be magnified 100 times when Rushyte gets into it.

Has anyone said anything about the Priddis tackle? Still think that could be more important in the outcome for Walker than anything else.
Barrett on TFS this morning reckons Tex's and that one will be fine, but Nahas is the one in trouble (spear tackle). Pretty confident they will throw it out.

Did you see Billy Brownless wetting himself to try and get Tex reported, couldn't have tried any harder to tell the panel it was a sling tackle with Taylor getting concussed. Getting sick of these biased media personalities somewhat

That is GOLD

It means that Tex is home free. The Richmond-Essendon "Dream Time" game is this week. Bombers near the top of the table, The Tiger army starting to roar... this week is the ultimate Victorian wankfest. 90,000 at the G, the heartland of football, all that crap.

They'll need Nahas to play and the reverse grading curve means that any lesser tackles will have to go unpunished.

Robin Nahas... I could kiss you.

But Nahas is a dud, they won't care about suspending him. If only Riewoldt, Cotchin or Watson had smashed somebody.
Reckon he goes ok for a small forward. Would be interested to see if there is a small forward in the comp getting more of the ball than him over the last 12 months.

But anyway, yes Cotchin or Riewoldt would have been better.

Also it was Nathan Lovett-Murray who slammed Priddis. Again, not the big fish unfortunately but with the Bombers injury woes his status will be elevated.

But this is the "Dream Time at the G" game and while not one of the biggest fish, he is... one of Jason Mifsud's favourite players, which only improves his chances of getting off at the tribunal.

NLM is part of the dream time they will want him playing.

A hard tackle is fine. His head clearly hit the surface with solid impact and that is why it will be investigated. Darren Milburn got two weeks for a similar tackle a couple of years ago. Not saying that I agree with the rules but I can almost guarantee he will be given weeks for it.

Jack Trengove reckons he'll get 3 weeks lol. It all depends on the 'injury' the geelong doctors file in their medical report. Any sign of concussion and Taylor will get 2 I think. I don't agree with it one bit. Just like I didn't agree with the Dangerfield one. A strong tackle is a strong tackle. Hope he gets off

Very surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that Walker has points hanging over his head. I am pretty sure he has 90 odd points for his previous sliding offense. This would mean he only has to get cited to miss a week.
