I still don't agree with that assertion.

If the MRP were being told to give greater penalties to players who play for smaller teams, clubs would be in court.

It's not about penalties. It's about citing.

Once the MRP decides to not cite the Bombres player, the greater penatly argument is null & void.

Not really, because some on this forum believe that if Walker played for Collingwood or Essendon, it wouldn't have been looked at.

I don't agree with this.

If the decision to cite someone is partly based on the club they play for, then the competition is corrupt.
 
Clearly some of us here on this board were wrong thinking the AFC could say Walker was guilty then challenge the Medium impact with out risk of a 3 match ban.

Emotionally, I wanted the club to appeal what I think is an injustice, but they obviously are pretty certain that an appeal would be unsuccessful, or they would have. They want Walker to play as much as we do.

It's up to the rest of the boys to cover for him now.

Agree, you can't bring up other instances in the same round which were deemed to be 'not forceful'. We all know it's an absolute joke and just compare it with the intention from NLM! He tried to trip him with his foot! His intention was to bring the player to ground in a manner that is not legal even before he arranged it in the end.

I can't believe Rodney Eade on AFL360 last night claimed that it was okay to have those games because the player was concussed. Whoops on the Geelong medical staff if that was the case, because he came back on the field! I think he must have Taylor confused with Priddis...

How on earth Nahas didn't get games is beyond me either. That was a classic spear tackle if ever I saw one.

THE problem with Tex Walker is that he's trying to play footy in a league rapidly becoming less tough than the average pillow fight. Nobody wants to go back to the days of thugs whacking guys behind play. Or tacklers "lifting" and spearing their opponents.

But diving into someone's back as you tackle is a free kick (or should be), so the tackler has to take the opponent sideways. That's what Walker did. Damn it, the umpires - who saw the incident in real time, not in the deceptive slow motion, did not even award a free kick.

In the videos above, watch the Lovett-Murray and Nahas tackles, which did not attract a penalty and the Walker effort. Which was most dangerous?

This is an instinctive sport, where players have to make decisions in an moment. They don't have time to do the physics and play the scenario out in their head in slow motion 10 times before acting.

Maybe they can start measuring angles that players are tackled at to determine if it was a reportable tackle.. Give every player a protractor and they then have no excuse :thumbsu:
 
If you were a Tin Foil Hat wearer, you would think that the AFL wants to keep the cup in Vic, so get rid of the recruiter who got a non-vic team some fine young prospects, despite the odds. Now take out the Coleman medal leading forward for the 2 most important matches............... hhmmm Ok hats off now.


The Crows must now come out and make a statement on the field and have all 22 players tackle hard against Carlton. Move the ball fast and beat them soundly.

(The MRP simply could not suspend 22 players in one week if there were hard tackling could they?)

Shits me we are so PATHETIC and when I rang and let them know my displeasure at them not appealing Walkers suspension, well they hang up on me cause I said the clubs gives me the shits. "sorry sir I am hanging up because you said shit!!" What is this club coming too?:mad::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::mad:

Rage, calling it shit? come on thats a little too sensitive dont you think? I didnt get on the phone and yell randomly at the first person who answered you know. In fact I did not yell at all. I simply implied that by not sticking up for Walker and the games we had coming up meant it was a gutless and shitty decision by the club. Thats all i got out to the guy in the footy dept before he got all precious.
PS I was trying to apologise and find another word but his mind was already made up, he was not going to listen any further
PPS I played for years and never heard any bad language coming from staff or supporters....no way everyone was a nun.......rolleyes
 
Isn't there things called precedent? couldn't we have walked into the tribunal with the other two videos of players doing the same thing that got off this week and said if these got off we should too.

it's racits by letting the indigenous players off for the same thing just cos it's indigenous round hell we could appeal that Walker is a star of the game and attracts crowds!
