Tarrant won't be at Collingwood next year.

As such there are 15 interested clubs.

West Coast never said they don't want him. On the contrary, they said they do want him. It's just they were stating that they weren't willing tio sell the farm to get the deal accross. Fair enough, but what else are you going to say?!

With all the signals we've been getting I think it is 50/50 whether Tarrant will be at Collingwood. Some may say we haven't said we're trading him and others may say Tarrant wants out.
I would guess that we are shopping him around (not putting him up in a garage sale), if we get a deal that will actually improve us as a side we will take it, if we have a bit of a bidding war then we will obviously take the highest bidder. If we don't get what we want we keep Tarrant, no skin off our noses.

Does Tarrant want to leave? I don't think so. Reading between the lines I think he is willing to leave if a trade is agreed apon. He will hardly go kicking and screaming, but if he stays with us, he will still be very happy.

Has no one here read Chip Le Grand's article in yesterday's Australian and then another article in today's Australian. It's pretty damn clear he wont be at Collingwood next year. We have the upper hand in this scenario and we will only trade on our terms. We've also created the situation by not coming out and putting him on the table too early where clubs are going to bid against each other for his services.

Let's get this into perspective everyone. As it currently stands we'll have 2 top 20 picks in the best draft ever and an up and coming midfielder. That would be a fantastic result for us, and that's why they'll do the deal.

Is that the same Chip Le Grand that said Tarrant was at the INXS concert with a beer in one hand and a smoke in the other, when he was in fact at home?

Is that the guy you mean?

Mate, Lynch made great progress this year, and has become a good forward, but you need another, lets face it, WC are a far better team than Sydney, and all other teams bar Adelaide have a lot of catching up to do, a win is a win, and you won by 1 point, but WC could be a better team, if they could kick more goals. Hansen and Hunter wont always turn it on when it counts.

Huh:confused:
They perform in finals and Tarrant doesn't.

It actually doesnt matter what you Eagles blokes think. The WCE officials want him.

At the end of the day the Pies will not let him go for nothing - Pies will want 2first rounders or first rounder and player like Nicoski or Hurn or Rosa.

I'm sorry Collingwood supporters but Woosha and Nisbett weren't born yesterday.

Nicoski>Tarrant

Every other club needs to catch up to them.

So no the Eagles will not be wasting picks on a HFF with a bad attitude, alchol problems, that is injury prone and inconsistent.

We will let you keep him.:D

This could be a very good bump in about 6 days time.

If Tarrant goes, this makes Maguire and Malthouse look like fools after their midseason defence of the player.

How so? In sports the situiation changes constantly, they aren't exactly going to slate Tarrant mid season in the media as he is an asset to the club.

Should go. Best thing for Collingwood. Sides don't need walking distractions like him - no matter how talented.

your a fool. If tarrant is traded, it was good of MM and Maguire to talk him up and defend him, hopefully increasing his trade value. If MM and Maguire had of publically critised him, knowing that he would be eventually traded would just give excuses for clubs to offer less for him.

If so, the stuff they said in the middle of the year was either

1. a lie and he was going all along
2. true, but changed as the season wore on.

Both cases are fine with me. I just find it interesting that Malthouse defended him so vigorously at the time. It was a pretty stout defence.

Great move in trading him.

Yeah I saw that, said he was a certainty to be traded. Freo and WCE front runners having offered their first round picks and young midfielders, other clubs will have to match it. I would be surprised if we did trade him.

He'd go to WCE, Freo, Syd, or if in Vic, then Geelong.
Who says that?
If he really wanted to stay, then he'd say I DONT want to be traded, I want to play my career out at Collingwood.

Ask me for my source?
Haven't got one, but EVERY paper that reports on Tarrant and being traded seems to mention these clubs as his desired destinations if traded.

My point?
Eddie comes out Friday night (Saturdays paper) and says nothing short of excellent behaviour will be tolerated at Collingwood next year. Very next day's paper, Johnson has a massive article saying that Eddie was right, and Collingwood will be more behaved next year. So the point is, if there was no truth to Tarrant being traded, or him saying his desired destinations, he would come out and say, No, I dont want to be traded. If he does, he does.

Tarrant is gone if we get the right offer. Simple as that.

You have to think that its at least 50/50. What would make the Herald Sun so certain. His name was included with Akermanis' and we all know that he is gone.

There is no question that he is on the chopping block and is being shopped around. If you were Chris Tarrant, you would want somebody to just come out and say that Chris is a required player and is wanted at Collingwood.

We have not heard anything to suggest otherwise. If a great deal presents itself and one that would be just stupid to refuse, Taz is gone.

Does a player have to have a poor season or be a poor player to be traded? Have I missed something? Is this in the AFL rules? Good players can't get traded? Was this rule brought in after Hall, J.Carr, Scotland, Stevens, Wanganeen, Pickett, Clement, H.Black were traded?

it seems very strange that he was put under the category as 'gone'. There's no doubt if the right deal comes along he will be shipped off, yet this to me raises alot of doubts to whether we have that sought of player to do the chasing and hard 50-100-150m leads to provide an option. I know we have rusling and t.cloke but with rocca's fitness in doubt i think this may be an area in which we will struggle it Taz does get traded. Like many experts themsleves during the year have said when questioned on trading Taz, i dont think you trade your key forwards as they are the ones that become match winners when it really counts and are invaluable to the team. I know collingwood will consider a trade if the deal is right but they will ponder long and hard if it is really worth it- my answer would be no.
