I think you guys will tend to agree with me in saying Chris Tarrant looks a lot more focused this year. Even when he is not playing well he does a lot of work that doesnt get much recognisiton as much as kicking goals and taking marks.

Against the Kanga's he played like his AA form but agianst the don's i think he was also outstanding, even though you could say he didnt perform well, some of his chases were awesome and physical pressure he was putting on the essendon defence was very important, and went a long way to our win.

It is great to see he is not putting the head down when things seem to be going his way and enjoying the fact he has a bit more energy to chase and these sorts of things because he doesn't have to be our go to man every time we enter the fifty.

i think it has alot to do with his comments at the end of last year. he said something alongh teh lines of you really no who your friends are when you need them or somthing. i think he has finally grown up, dont see him hitting the clubs to regular these days either

What a complete load of bollocks. Tarrants alleged poor attitude is a myth.

When he's 100% fit hes on fire.
When he's not, he's not.

Simple as that.

Even last year his attitude and work when he didn't have the ball was supreme.

I know he doesn't like the attention but he should talk to the media a bit more. When he does he speaks well and without using cliches he voices his opinion.

Not sure I agree that his work of the ball was supreme last year . It was ok at times but poor at other times. Granted Taz was not fit last year but this excuse for his form has been used far to often over his career. You don't ever see the likes of bucks and voss using injuries as an excuse(not that taz himself used it as an excuse). Bucks had no right to perform the way he did last year after coming back from injury but his determination saw him perform to an outstanding level.
Don't get me wrong I love nothing more than to see Taz fit and firing and think he is crucial to our side . I have been absolutely rapt with him this year and like the first post I believe even on tuesday he was very good(even though some thought his game was ordinary)
The main thing I would like to see from Taz for the rest of his career is the gap between is best and worst close as I reckon this is his biggest problem. Many of our supporters get very defensive over Tarrants critcism but lets face the facts, he has been on the list for about 9 years now and has had only 1 outstanding season and a couple of solid seasons. I think the criticism over his career is more than warranted considering his ability.
Having said all that I would have hated to be a forward in our side over the last 2 years.
Lets hope he can keep it going.

2006 he has already shown more passion to play the game on the field than most of his career. I first noticed it against the Dockers last season, when he put in the chases, second efforts, tackles, etc.

HE WAS INJURED>

I was simply replying to the comment that his workrate off the ball was supreme. Injuries or no injuries I disagreed with this comment. Perhaps you should actually read the entire post before commenting

Must admit I havent heard of his all night drinking sessions before matches yet this year, did it twice in the first 4 weeks last year that I knew of, maybe he has improved
maybe he's just learnt how to cover it up better ;)

also good to see this year he has put time in to improve the perception of himself by putting himself out there doing more media things, every tv and radio interview i have seen of him he has done very well and even his work on afl.com.au weekly shows is quite good
