Should have won minus the heart attacks, **** sake. Better than losing though which I thought happened when Goddard took that mark and slotted the goal

Same Here I turned the TV off for bit after that

Can't feel good about this result. It was a game we should have won. Don't have a good feeling about next week at all, we threw the kitchen sink at this game, if they couldn't get over the line today I don't see it happening in a weeks time either.

Could say the same thing as the Saints but did look like Ross Lyon had Figured us out in the 2nd Half and they Destroyed us in the Midfield

Really not confident for next week. Our pressure was well off in the second half, not sure if they players were tired or not.

The Saints made us play 1 vs 1 and Exposed out Zone

OMG just OMG..................... ****! scuse the language..... we should have had it wrapped up..... just... like....... ****!!! THANKS LEON!

Can someone explain to me how Milne is allowed to push someone in the back during a one-on-one at such a critical stage of a Grand Final in a forward line?

Because the Umps wanted the Saints to win and they missed quite a few in our Forward 50:mad:

Oh god, one of the greatest days of my life, after the siren blew all 17 of us just dropped to the ground exhausted, haha I am glad we salvaged a draw, I was the only Pie there :D

No guys, we'll be OK next week.

I was never super confident this week..reason being we kind of 'had our GF last week' or perhaps you could say we had a magic day last week v cats that was never going to be repeated.

We played crap today overall. Swan, Didak, Pendles, Bally, Leon (bar one kick) had shockers, by their standards.
Didn't think Beams or Leroy did that much either. Dawes also had a shocker and also Trav did a lot less than usual.

Were we top heavy today, not sure?

We can't play that bad again. Thank you Maxy for your game, and Browny ( Nate), Reid and Tooves.

Plus, as TD says, our boys now also have a negative GF experience, that everyone says you need, and was a bonus Saints boys had over us today.

Think 'they had their GF' today, but we def didn't.

But our boys seemed lower today and more disappointed, so they do have to get up perhaps a little more.

We won in October in 1990 i recall

Why?

They played at their best to score a draw...

for the most part of the second half we butchered it

There were some massive decision making errors a couple of uncharacteristic ones from Thomas in that third...straighten up and take the shot and why did he centre to blair ?

A lot of fumbles and a bit of indecision however coming back next week means its a chance for the young blokes to steady their nerves and i think weve got as good a chance as today

as they have now had GF Experince;)

Not just that, they'll see a sense of normality, turning up to training tomorrow and itll be routine.

Look i dont think some of the boys will be that down on performance as today

Pendles wasnt influential, Swan didnt get on the scoreboard and too many non contributors

Im still very confident

Great contest today. Some of you guys saying you were off your game and played shit, Saints could say the same. Both teams went hard at it and gave it their all and produced a great spectacle. Collingwood are fast starters v St Kilda who are fast finishers. Next week should produce another gut wrenching game. A good result for football in that at least we don't have a lopsided contest in the biggest game of the year. Well done to both teams !

This doesn't need a thread but it is still something I would like people to take notice of.

Shane Crawford article where he highlights the lesser names who did their jobs honourably on our key pies.

Now that we know some of the matchups the Saints might play. We really closely need to annalyse these lesser names and find ways to make our stars more effective on these "role players".

I'm sure many of you noticed how Swan, Pendlebury and Didak didn't have their usual impacts. Leigh Brown was beaten by Jason Blake. And so on.

What each player needs to do is have a close look at how their opponents played them. Have a think about their opponents relative weaknessses and try to expose those to maximise their impacts on next weeks grand final. Chance are the matchups will be pretty similar so I think a fair bit of work needs to be done here.

dave we lost 1977 replay on 1st October

Yer but we didnt choke, we just lost to a very good team that dominated the game. Thats not Collywobbles. Our last Premiership was play in October. I am confident anyway, we played very bad and Mick is a much better coach then Ross, he will work out how to beat em after yesterdays terrible performance.
