Team Changes - Rd 10

No room for complacency.

If it's good enough for gneuinely top teams to change the side after a win, then it's good enough for middle-of-the-road sides like us. We can't act like we're good enough to carry players. We're not.

There's a big difference between consistency and complacency, and we're not good enough to claim the former. We should be constantly looking to improve.

 the other 2 ok i can see that but where the hell did you get that from hasnt he been playing reserves. We are in a pretty good posi netter than most of us thought, it aint the time to experiment. It not as if we are desperate.

After nearly half a season, how do you think that Van Berlo is progressing?
Much better than I expected ;)

He played 3 AFL games and has consistently been in South Adelaide's best players. Thats pretty impressive for a first year player who was taken in the second round of the draft ;)

I think it will be onhold until we really have no chance of getting into the finals.

Considering the state of our list, shouldn't our priority at this stage be on developing at least a few of the young guys? Wouldn't it better to bring in youngsters when you are still in the hunt for finals? I don't advocate bringing in all the young guys at once, but an occasional game ot two wouldn't hurt.

Two Scenrios:

Don't blood the youngsters finish bettwen 5 and 9.

Blood the youngsters finish between 6-10

As I don't believe we are a genuine premiership chance, I would prefer the second option.

Nobody should be dropped except perhaps :( Radar. He'd better do a bit soon.

Doesn't anyone else find it worrying that we are dropping/talking about dropping young guys ( Reilly and Trent Hen ) when these guys are supposedly meant to be our future? I would only drop Reilly if one of the young guys comes in. I reall can't see the point in dropping Radar and bringing in say Begley/Ladhams/Bode.

Would you bring in Watts Stiff?
I thought about this and if I knew who to drop I probably would but in all honesty I would find it hard to drop anyone and thats including Reilly.

People say we should drop Perrie but dropping Srage brings us to all the "Hentschel scenario" over again. Hentschel would have relished the opportunity to play in the same forward line as Perrie and McGregor.

When we bring in Fergus it should be with BOTH Perrie and McGregor in the side as key forwards, otherwise we will suck the wind out of his sails the same way we did with Hentschel.

The idea is to bring these lads along slowly where they play 4th or 5th fiddle. Not 2nd fiddle which would happen if you drop Perrie.

It looks like the rebuild is on hold for another week.

Don't agree with this Springy.

You can rebuild in more ways than one IMO.

If Mattner, Hudson, Rutten go from being fringe players to damn good ones who demand a regular spot then they're like new players. The same applies to a lesser degree to Shirley and Skippy.

Thompson who attacks replaced Stenglein who defends - another improvement.

While all these players are playing well, the younger players can improve their game and confidence to make them more ready to take their chance at AFL when it comes.

Personally I think Craig is handling his players well. If he followed all the advice from this board on selection we'd be guaranteed a priority pick. ;) :D
