not sure on louge. probably better off pocketing the extra 60k and getting a cheaper rookie.

The rest of the team structure seems fine. A few question marks on health with of few of those players, but every team this year will have injury risks.

still deciding between nankveris or steele. I've always gone the approach of getting players who play midfield and bit of fwd and love to lay tackles

RUCKMAN:
View attachment 347905
I'm going to make this simple. No one has ever won supercoach with a mid price madness ruckline. Ever. Simple as that.

A bloke won one year starting Blicavs at R2 (he was a 117K rookie from memory). I'm sure there were people telling him he was mental and that no one had ever won starting a rookie at R2.

I finished top 50 overall a few seasons ago when Jacobs was priced at 86 and went on to average ~115. I was arguing for Jacobs being an awesome selection during pre season and people on here were mocking the idea of going with him. A huge part of my top 50 finish was going with Jacobs.

Every year presents something different and you have to play the hand that gets dealt in front of you.

Hopefully I don't need to change it too much.

I had Jacobs that year!

He was huge, I think I finished in the top 50...thousand...

Thoughts on Jacobs this year?? Sneaky under the radar I'm thinking

Going to be hard NOT to pick Butler given the certainty of the Thursday night Tiger's fixture
He plays Sunday mate. Just thought you should know.

Fair enough mate.

Only second year player to get close is Fyfe with 108, Oliver won't come close IMO.
Oliver has all the potential to end up the highest scoring ranga IMO

Hoping this is the one.
Cash in bank will be used to bring in an expensive rookie or 2 once teams are announced

If I need more more for the high price rookies, I will:
  • move Ryder forward in place of Roughy; Sandi in at R2 = gives me an extra $60k
  • swap Rance for JJ or Vince = gives me an extra $20k or $35k respectively

If Spencer is named, Gawn is getting the flick and I'll go with either of the following ruck combos:
  • Ryder, Sandi (Strnadica) / Nankervis forward
  • Ryder, Nankervis (Strnadica)
+ any remaining cash will be used to upgrade O'Meara to Ward or Titch if possible
Don't ditch Gawn

If I ditch Gawn for Sandy, I can upgrade JOM to Pendles.

Leaves my mids pretty strong.

I'm thinking of doing it if Spencer gets named.

I can't tell if it's a good idea or am I just shifting risk to my rucks from mids where I have more cover.

Too late for this shit but works been hectic and I'm running out of planning time

That's my plan, except its Goldy to Witts so I can up Swallow to Selwood, but apart from the completely different set of names basically the same thing.

I call this plan: "Regrets I'm going to have in Round 4".

He'll always hold a special place in my heart for his efforts that season [emoji813], but I'm afraid it looks as if his SC relevant days are over

HERE IT IS LADS!! My final team (hopefully) barring rooks being named. What do people think??

DEF: Doch, Shaw, Laird, Hampton, Hibberd, Otten (Stewart, Vickers Mills)

MID: Danger, Pendles, Treloar, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, Taranto, Powell Pepper (Baratt, Parfitt, Atley)

RUCK: Stef Martin, Sandi (Strandica)

FWD: Roo, Dahl, Greene, Ryder, Pickett, Houston (Butler, Eddy)

A lot of similarities to mine.

Not sure if that's a good thing is not :drunk:

Alright you blokes. This is how I'm looking with 351k left over and not sure where to spend it.

Defenders: These blokes have the ability to rack up a lot of ball. Adams and Lloyd could become Shaw and Rance. Hampton is locked but I'm not convinced over the other rookies.

Mids: Dangerfield is a must, Pendles and Selwood are proven guns, Neale and Parker just accumulate and score well. Beams is good value and I'll keep him as long as he stays fit. SPP is a lock and hopefully Florent plays enough early ones.

Rucks: Not keen on Gawn at 645k and will target later on in the season. Goldy has the track record of good scores and I'm keen on Stef to start with.

Forwards: Dahlhaus and Macrae are also in the accumulator category with little variation in scores. Might not go as high as JJK after he kicks 8, but they won't give you many low, stinker scores. Steele is a midpriced risk and could become Riewoldt, but his JLT was pretty good and could churn out some decent numbers with his tackling rate. Turner and Eddy seem to be in favour, whilst the other 3 rookies could easily change pending team selection.

Spending that much on rucks they should be keepers - it will be tough to get the cash to get in gawn. Same with the midpricers - no point selecting them unles planning to keep them as F6 etc.

Good morning all

Made some changers to my team last night, feedback would be much appreciated.
My forward line in not to sure weather to keep Higgins or swap for Ryder as some cover in the ruck.

Thought on my team?

I really like your back line. It is a pretty generic team apart from Higgins - who i think is a good POD - but i think your structure can set you apart. 2 rookies on field in each position (except rucks) is pretty much ideal IMO. I also notice that your team is well balanced for the bye rounds, did you take the byes into consideration when selecting your team?

I see both of those rucks as keepers. Beams could easily be M8, Lloyd D6 and Steele F6. 351k in the bank helps with the cash situation
