Thinking of going something like this; a bit soft on the FWD / DEF lines to start is my main concern; Rookies will change based off who's playing and Bennell may or may not even play...

I like it, other than Bennell. He has calves made out of tissue paper.
Rucks different, no Gawn I see.

My main goal is to try to limit necessary trades where possible, that's why I've avoided Adams, Rocky and Ablett. If Bennell plays until the bye I think he'll make some good cash, but I'm not sure how likely he is to see out an entire season. Roughead is in the same price bracket / category so I guess I'll see which one looks the better prospect after the pre-season series is done.

I'm wary of the Ruck curse with Gawn! In AFL Fantasy I'm going Gawn / Sandi with Ryder forward at this point, so I can only get it right in one format I guess...

i wouldnt be too worried about the rookies, but premos YES 9 from 2 is too many

Yeah, they were all premos. Changed it around a little bit and got this.

Not sold on Adams because of durability but his scoring potential is too high to leave out I reckon.

Thanks, I'm definitely concerned too many mid-pricers and will certainly keep that in mind. Kind of like Hopper and Marchbank though. Will wait and see what happens in pre season before spending too much time on tinkering.

Now there's no way I'm starting with more than $50k in the bank but it does give a lot of options for changes before rd 1.

Most likely, Another premo in the midfield but those rookies I have look like starters at this stage and bottom price rookies will be hard to find this year.

But Gunston with Roughy back concerns me. Those three top priced rookie fwds are a lot of coin.

Giles is a cash cow. He'll get to $500k if he gets sole ruck role. Gawn will come in when he drops a bit.

But yes, agree, captain option concern me.

Shaw, Fyfe, JPK all options (Beams possibly too) but there's no plan B there.....

Had a quick tinker and I think this looks a bit better and will be leaving it for a while to see how pre-season plays out. Kept Hopper but got Laird, TMitch and Buddy in with a couple of rooks.

I don't mind the Bennell pick, its a risky pick that could come off or go horribly wrong but in his price range there aren't too many good options. Personally i'd drop black for Bolton, upgrade Bennell to Ryder and upgrade Dusty to Danger but thats just me. Good team overall with a few PODs!

I like your call of Black out for Bolton, think I will do that.

I'm going to hold on Bennell and see how him and Ryder go in the pre season comp. If Bennell gets back to anything lose to what he did at GC he is a lock for 90+, probably closer to 95+ whereas I don't think Ryder will be better than 85-90.
I want Danger in, but I'm not sure I'm willing to part with $700k+ for him tbh. The only way I will bring him in is if I swap S.Martin with Sandilands which is something I am open to.

I think both Laird and JJ can both go 100+. What's your reasoning on them not improving?

I thought about that with Bont, but I just see it as more opportunity for him to get clearances/tackles. He should go 110 at worse when you factor in natural progression. Only slight worry I have on him is he got big points in close games due to being the clutchest man alive.

Gunston is doing some work on the wing this year apparently. Vickerspud and Roughead will free him up. Really like him as a POD.
