Libba will average near 110 imo. And yes imo nankervis has the ability to go close to 80-85
Haha him and 8 other dogs are all averaging that apparently. If that's what you think they'll average then by all means go right ahead!

The other day i had a go at predicting the scores of the top 250 or so players. (rookies excluded)

My top 10's are here.

https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/thre...ch-position-2017.1155930/page-2#post-48480972
(version 1. with limited allowances for injuries & pending assault convictions, e.g O'Meara is unconstrained, generally based on historical performances with allowance for age decline/improvement)

Today I've had a play with Excel Solver.

My constraints are
Salary 9,000,000
Pts MAX
Players 22
DEF 6
MID 8
RUC 2
FWD 6

I've standardised players in to 1 position, e.g all FWDMID's become FWD's
So at this stage no bench (I've allowed $125k per player) and no captain.

and here's what it gave me. $44,700 spare.

*I have no idea who Jackson Thurlow is, but he started 2015 well, 84 avg pre bye.
Interesting exercise. Set a minimum av for each position imo, or manually remove the lower value non-keepers and replace with rookies, and use the cash to get some safer picks elsewhere.

Thoughts on this team? Version 1.0

Still trying to decide whether to have an extra premo in mid (like I currently have), or an extra premo in FWD/DEF Line.

DEFENCE

Docherty should still average 100+, as should Heater. Laird has been super reliable points wise over the last 2 years (just hoping the injuries stop, so I don't have to deal with a hole in my defence for 4 weeks like last year), so he earns the promotion of starter. I have also heard he may get a run in the mids this year (potentially), so that keeps me interested in him. If I was to run an extra premo in defence, I can afford whoever, I'd just cull Bont from my team for the cash. Likely extra premo applicants are JJ, Adams or Rance

The DEF line rookies can be changed to whoever performs well in the JLT series, as well as who is pretty much guaranteed a spot RD 1

MIDFIELD

Dangefield and Pendlebury select themselves, they were #1 & #2 for average points last year for a reason. Fyfe is life, and he is in my team unless there are any pre-season concerns. If any do happen, he is an easy sideways to someone like a JPK or Rockliff

Treloar and Bont will be the new Super Premo's, expecting them to go big this year, hopefully around 115+

Mitchell has a whole Hawks midfield to himself, he should aquire leather poisoning and get big scores this year, especially with an insane FWD to kick to

Myers and SPP should also walk up into each teams 22 come RD 1

MID bench rookies are changeable, but atm I feel these guys will most likely play

If I lose a MID premo, SPS takes his spot, look like he is locked into Blue's 22

RUCK

Gawn will be #1 Ruck again. Can't see anyone else pushing him out of the way.
Sandilands is too cheap to ignore, Freo's rucks are all injured, meaning he has no real competition. Plus with the banning of the 3rd man up, he just becomes way too good a player to leave out. Granted he is injury prones, but I see him averaging at least 100, and I only need him to play up until the byes, then I'll cash him in for the #2 ruckman (part of the reason I also have Sandilands is because R2 is kinda hard to get a read of, no real standouts at this point)
R3 should be Strnadica, but Cameron from the Swans could take his spot if he is set to play

FORWARD

Dahlhaus is expected to play Full-Time mid this year. LOCK. Only thing I hate about it is that he probs loses his FWD status next year, like Zerret, Zorko and Dusty this year. 110+

How Macrae got FWD status is beyond me, he only kicked 2 goals for the whole year. And 1 of them was in the prelim. Maybe the blokes at the Herald Sun felt bad they took all our FWD options, and had to give something back. Hopefully averages between 105-110

Heeney should get Titch's spot in the Swans mid. During the finals he averaged 94, including the first final against GWS where the Swans were tore a new one (he scored 55 that games) His other scores were 118, 120 and 88 consecutively. That is a PASS in my books, and he should be good for hopefully 100+, but would settle for 95+

Now the FWD rookies are kinda hard to get a read on. Hopefully the JLT series helps give me some ideas, but for McCluggage and Bowes, they seem like they are almost straight into their respective best 22's. Black should get games at the Cats, Hawkins needs a new partner in crime, and he fits the bill.

Eddy and Rioli look like instant locks at the Power and Eagles, so they are essentially locked in barring any issues.

If an extra Premo in FWD is desired, I'll look to get most likely Ryder as cover for Sandi. Other possiblilties are Buddy, Lids and possibly Lynch or Caddy

Conclusion

I know that there in no Ryder in this team, and that it's risky to use Sandilands with no cover. But like I said, I only need him to play up until the bye, with my idea that Heeney will outscore Ryder at F3. If his JLT form is excellent, he may find himself in the team, with Bont or Titch culled at his expense

Apart from Sandilands, I'm employing a no mid-pricers policy. Just guns and rookies for me, been burnt too many times employing mid pricers (looking at you KK)

Trying to avoid KPP as much as possible, their scores fluctuate far too much. May look to bring in some during the byes, as since their scores fluctuate, so too will their prices, and hopefully I can pick up a Buddy or Rance for peanuts

Pretty close to what I have ATM :thumbsu:

Virgin 2.0

Defenders:
Rory Laird
Hamish Hartlett
Jackson Thurlow
Andrew McGrath
Jarrod Berry
Ben Long
Luke Ryan
Tom Stewart

Midfielders:
Patrick Dangerfield
Scott Pendlebury
Gary Ablett
Adam Treloar
Nat Fyfe
Dyson Heppell
Dayne Beams
David Swallow
Sam Powell-Pepper
David Myers
Jake Barrett

Rucks:
Max Gawn
Aaron Sandilands
Luke Strnadica

Forwards:
Luke Dahlhaus
Isaac Heeney
Patrick Ryder
Hugh McCluggage
Jack Bowes
Callum Brown
Shai Bolton
Brett Eddy

$154k in kitty & plenty of top end rookies to hopefully get downgraded.

More than likely will "tighten up" to more GNR as rookies become clearer.

This is the worst time of the year for me. Try & stop fiddling, which I haven't been able to do since i was 14, as we await the rookies to shape my team.

Kegs Crusaders have been bought out and my team will under a new banner this year.

May I introduce the fuzzy onions

Version 1:

Laird, jj, Tom Mac, mclovin, long, Cox (hehehehe), Witherden & stewart

Danger, Pendles, JPK, Rocky, Fyfe, Murphy, SPP, greenwood, Graham, Pickett, balic

Maxxxy, sandi, strnadica

Dollhouse, heeney, touk touk, Ryder, Kirby, Bolton, Rioli & eddy

Considering maybe Murphy to swallow depending on pre season form. That will mean heeney to Gunston or mclovin to doc etc

Have gone a bit overboard in the Midfield but really liking this team. All premos I've picked I'm confident could finish top in their positions.
