Decided to stack mids this year and minimise mid pricers. 117k rookies will change but l'm pretty set on the rest. Some risky picks that have big upside if they stay fit and in form.

I had Shiel last year, gun player but just cant rack up really big scores, found him very frustrating. I would downgrade one of your GC rookies and upgrade Shiel to a better premo.

I'd also have Scharanberg if fit over Keefe, don't rate him at all, especially as a fwd which l believe could be his new role. Other pies supporters might know more on this.

I like mid staking this year. Plenty of players that should get 110+ no problem. However I think you've overdone it. Usually we have 1 or 2 pretty good mids averaging 70-85 from basement price who you'd rather have on the field (Kerridge, Petracca, Vandenberg, Miller, Crouches, JOM was at 100, etc), I think you should have room for at least 1 if not 2 mid rookies. Swallow is a trap imo, hes not averaging above 95 and if he's far from a keeper.

Yep, Swallow is risky but one l'm willing to take. Hoping he's this years Libba. Not intending for him to be keeper. Thanks for your thoughts

yeah shiel's average isn't all that flash hot, was sorta thinking of him as a POD, expecting the giants to go far again this year. will keep that option in mind though, bowes was sort of a placeholder. don't expect him to play too many games early, as we seem to have a fairly healthy list at the moment.

did consider scharanberg, but wasn't too up to speed on his fitness. i'd usually always go hbf over a kpd, but thought a 26 year old keefe might get a fair few games, sort of like nathan brown last year who was another cheap option, and flick him once he's hit his peak value. will watch out for scharanberg in preseason though.

This is the team I have thrown together.

Pretty happy with it, strong on all lines.

Just not sure whether to go with 4 premo defenders or 4 premo forwards?

If they closed yesterday it could be a blessing in disguise in saving me from a repeat of the infamous Out Roughead, in Zorko and back in Roughead meltdown year of a few years ago.

Note - I HAVE NOT picked Roughead in my team despite him tempting me like a temptress.

That's fair enough, as long as you have a plan if sandi gets injured. I love the idea of stacking the mids, more points in the middle. Good luck for the season ahead.

1 not sure if he'll hold a spot.

Not too sure, most teams I've seen sandi in have Ryder in the forward line as back up. The pre season matches will hopefully reveal more. My worry with sandi is injury but he could be rested from some games when freo travel.
