Roughy is forward, Murphy is backline. Get your point on Murph though, valid. He's almost 35 and has never been a super scorer, was good in '13 but only the 17 games.
Has always been under the top echelon.
Coming off a reco.
Most are penciling in Bont, Macrae, Dahl, JJ as 100+ scorers, then they've got Libba who could easily be more than that, Hunter, MBoyd etc. They can't all be premo scorers, there's only 3300 points to go around.
We have a plethora of quality defenders to pick from already.
If you're gonna go with a player around that price I'd say Roughy is a better pick, if fit, has a better history and is on a line that is much more lacking in gun picks to fill our 6 spots.
90 x 15 = 1350SC points...ohh yeh know projected doesn't mean much but its still good to have it fairly high.
im confident in 15 of my starting 22 being 90+ scorers or very close to.
and 78k is pretty decent for when i need to do a mad scramble between 6.30 and 7.50 on opening night haha

Our teams are ridiculously alikeHave cooled on the stacked mids option and reduced number of injury risk players in Beams, swallow, sandi and just have JOM and the Berg to worry about.
The fwd options suck this year so have bolstered def instead and Doc comes in (wanted him last year but couldnt afford the upgrade). Ditched Touk, not sold on Heeney, McRae & Caddy don't appeal and don't want a KP premo fwd. Although l don't really like Ryder either, he comes in purely that he's good cover for bye rounds and may be f6-f8 keeper down the track. Fwd line super lean but meh, all other lines are well covered l think.
$20k left.

Haha yes it is...have been doing the jpk or hanners pick 100 times, keep going back to jpk.
JOM is a shit pick mate and all the best with round 9.
Round 12 bye happy days.
McGrath is well worth the money if he is best 22. He will certainly go up if he is constantly picked. I know little about him, but I'm seriously considering Cam Mac (Freo) even at that price if fwd rookies are dicey.
Can you gimme a bit of info on McGrath ?
Gonna have 1 last crack before JLT kicks off. $50,900 left in the bank.
Rookies are placeholders, picked some of the more expensive ones just to make it easier to chop and change them.
Montagna - Gun, similar to Roo he loves playing at ES. Will rack up plenty of hot chips week in week out.
Laird - Lock, similar to Monty just racks up the posies, another with a nice draw. Rumoured for midfield time, dunno how to feel about that, he already gets plenty sitting in the back pocket.
Vlas - 1 of 3 "mid-pricers" but the only one I see as a legitimate mid-pricer. Probably riddled with bias being a Tiges supporter and also a massive Vlastuin fan. But if for once in his career Dimma doesn't let me down we should see Vlas transition out of the hellhole that is the Richmond back pocket, where he still somehow managed to average 75 over the last 2 years there, and into the middle. I'm also fairly confident he'll be spending his chop outs in the forward half and on the bench. As far away from the back pocket as possible.

Danger - Lock. 7% of the salary cap, made up 5% of my total points last year, not including captains scores and I still managed to miss the 229...Round 12 bye happy days.
Pendles - SC point scoring machine, has scored less than 80 ONCE in his last 147 games. The end of last year was the first time he'd scored back to back sub 100s since 2010.
Hanners - recently added Hanners at the expense of TMitch, he's just outrageously consistent and tends to burst out of the gates.
Treloar - Love Treloar, have had him the last 3 years and looking to make it 4 in a row. Think he'll be the one to take the next step into super-premo status.
Rocky - Burn master Rocky is getting his 5th or 6th chance... Risky but well worth it imo, has a very tasty draw to start and arguably the biggest ceiling.
Fyfe - Who isn't picking him?
*Deluca is the floating donut atm, due to lack of mid rookies popping up thus far, the donut will end up being at M9 or R3 depending on how it all pans out.

Gawn - Rucks are all over the shop. We know that the #1 rucks haven't backed it up before, think Gawn could break the mold thanks to the new rule, and 90% of all other rucks being underdone.
Witts - He's basically a high-end rookie. Was going with 2-1-5 in the FWDs anyways and if he shits the bed early Ryder takes his place and I end up having to play a Bolton/Eddy type on the field and lose a few points on a dud rookie pick. I think he could average 80ish and he'll be culled before or at his bye once I get a better look at the rucks who at the moment have not stood out to me. (Grundy ordinary ceiling, beat up on garbage rucks towards the end of last year. Stef, Archie Smith exists. Goldy, underdone. etc)

Dahl - Safe, will be top 6 with ease. Was killing it before his injury last year. Expect him to perform at the same level and hope he doesn't go down again.
Macrae - Kids a jet, why is he a DPP? I dunno, but I'm gonna pick him. Managed a 100 average in his second year. See running through the middle more with the inclusion of Cloke and Crameri. Safe as houses.
Ryder - Has been in every iteration, think he's just a really good pick. If Ken has any idea Lobbe will not play AFL again, unless Ryder, Trengove and Hoff all die. DPP is a plus.
Roughy - Can't believe I'm able to even consider the bloke. If Hawthorn can back him as their captain I can back him as my midpricer! If he's back to 100% he's very capable of being a top FWD this year considering it's looking pretty shallow, can easily switch a bit around to turn him into wonder-kid Heeney if he looks underdone come round 1.

Swallow over JOM for me...both coming back off injury and although JOM has a higher ceiling, I still see Swallow putting up some respectable numbers. The cash saved can be the difference of upping a cheep rookie in case you need to.Have cooled on the stacked mids option and reduced number of injury risk players in Beams, swallow, sandi and just have JOM and the Berg to worry about.

So many risks to deal with weekly.
Vlastuin is a huge unknown, never averaged more than 76, also only played 22 games once in his career. Only 1 100 last season and 7 in total his whole career, a potential move to the midfield is all well and good but whether he can actually score and sustain a score is a bigger question. I assume with cash in the bank it'd be a straight swap with Hartlett maybe if he doesn't come up by round 1?
Rockliff speaks for himself, durability lacking, consistent scoring is lacking also, he tends to come home stronger than he finishes too most years backs up the season with a higher average than the beginning. Big upside but also massive downside
Fyfe coming off a broken leg could take some time to work back into it even though he's done most of the preseason
Witts on field makes your mids look nice but I'm really questioning his scoring power, averaged 70 twice, one of those years as the #1 ruck I think there will be higher scoring rookies cheaper in other lines, be it you have cover in Ryder but he'd have to really turn it on to become a keeper as a ruckman
Ryder hasn't played in a year, averaged 85 in his last full season which won't make him top 15 forwards come the end of the year, he'll be sharing load again this year, yes with Trengove but still sharing
Roughead again hasn't played in a year, less of a risk but still a risk whether he can step straight into his former self
Maybe take some security and remove one of these risks
Love your mids Seymour Skinner. I'm currently rolling with the same 6. Could be 7 IF rookies present themselves down back.
