No I havent. You say that banging bodies will shorten his career. I say he is already near the end of his career and has no injury problems, and one game in Round 1 against a possible taller opponent will not make any difference. You compared him wrongly to Brereton and Carey - those guys phyically were washed up in their mid-late 20's. Clement has already passed that phase of his career and is still AA standard (should have been picked last season, we all agree that). Physically theres no comparison between those guys and Clement. Generally a defender would take less physical punishment than a forward anyway, as he's the hunter rather than the hunted.

Ruck: Richards Licuria Swan

Bench: Burns Egan Lonie Bryan

I think they will play Fraser forward for two resons, One to get his match fitness up & he will also pinch hit in Ruck.

Richards (although doesnt deserve a game) will play as he adds structure to our team & allows Fraser to go forward.

Bryan also will play as if Richards struggles then Fraser can Ruck with Bryan as a third tall in forward line.

I believe they will try Richards, Fraser & Bryan in the early rounds (while we have potent forwards out in Didak & Bucks). However if Richards fails to deliever then he will be gone.

I hope he stands up, but only time will tell!

That wouldn't bother Wakelin one bit. He always thrashes Ottens who is a bit taller than Hale.

This is why teams don't panic when Sandilands is rested forward. Height doesn't matter if you know how to play as a key defender.

Clement and Maxwell are both around the same size and a bit shorter than Wakelin, they have no problems in playing on the taller ruckmen. Although Maxwell struggled against ruckmen sized players who are actually good down forward (Lade, Everitt, Charman).

Hale has not shown to be a great mark for his size, doesn't take a lot of overhead or contested marks.

Yes. Fraser when forward always gets matched up against a medium defende for example Gibson or Firrito because he isn't a great overhead mark for his size, but he moves around like a flanker.

Reid will play as it will force the roos to play a tall in defence with no thompson up forward they will struugle to match up with height.

taking a look at those teams we are way too top heavy

up forward the roos only have 1 real big bloke in Hale, the rest are quick little blokes, Edwards is a leading type forward.......no way that wakelin, presti, maxwell and h.o'brien will all get a game, i reckon only two of the four will play

Iles/Lockyer get the jobs on Thomas-Campbell, worried bout these we need to find a good quick back pocket stopper hopefully iles can fill that role

Hale will be too tall for all our defenders, let max try to run him around a bit

In the middle need to hard tag Booma as he kills us, step forward R.Shaw.

Also keep a close check on Wells as he can spark them if given any space

Obree head to head with Harris, should be a good battle
Licka v Simpson
Rawlings may go to B.Johnson i reckon
the roos will need to cut out H.Shaw and Swans run somehow

Up forward

petrie will take cloke
watt to take rocca
pratt may get medders
sinclair thomas
riggio to l.davis
egan will be too nimble for hansen, so that would force the kangas to change their structure a bit

Fraser will be too good around the ground for the BigMc, and should break even in the HO

I think you'll find if we went into the game with a shortage of talls in our backline we'll be in trouble. The Roo's do have guys in their side that a versatile. I mean the Roos could through Petrie, Brown, Hale, Moran all up forward, if this occurs you will need your Wakelins, Maxwell, and O'Briens.

If you ask anyone at Collingwood, which of the new Draft Picks has impressed the coaching staff and players the most at Collingwood, everyone will mention D**k. Plus l don;t think Didak will play, so D**k could well take the role of a goal kicking forward pocket.

yeah bit of a diffrence being a short ass and weighing 66kg then being 182 and 68kg
we'll see though :)

I think daisy was around 72-73kg when he first started playing. Think hes put on 3-4kg now. not sure though

True they have been talking him up a fair bit. I reckon he's a chance.
 
There's not enough room for him if you play Leon Davis, Medhurst and Egan which I think we will go with.

Reid and Cox are the wild card's but I reckon we have a fairly experienced 22 available.
