West Coast:

B: Wirrpunda, McIntosh, Banfield
HB: Hunter, Glass, Green
C: Chick, Cousins, Embley
HF: Sampi, Jakovich, Jones
F: Matera, Haynes, Cox
FOLL: Gardiner, Judd, Fletcher

I/C (from): Munro, Kerr, Morrison, Carroll, Braun, Lynch, Humm

IN: McIntosh, Chick, Lynch OUT: -

Lynch named, I like it. Ready still isn't good, but it's good to see Wirra and Fido named.

great to see Lynch named.

unfortunatly i can't see him making the cut.
my guess at the outs: will be Lynch, Munro, Glass. not that Munro or Glass played badly last week it's just that Mac and Chick are better players.

I can't see Glass being dropped. Plus, we have to drop three players that are named on the interchange.

SO out of those 7 on the bench, I'd say it will be Carrol, Munro and Humm.

I can see glass going in a direct swap for mcIntosh. Carrol will retain his spot.

Humm would be very unlucky given his last 2 weeks on the field but i guess it could happen

drop Glass? so as soon as a player starts playing well "ah we'll just drop him back"? and as it stands this year i would put my neck out and say Glass is playing better and is the long term option, he needs the gametime NOW to develop. Milli is GREAT Man on Man but who does he match up on for Essendon.

Having said that i expect both to play, Munro and Humm will drop out and i suspect so will Lynch, just dont see the others(including Carroll) being dropped(going on how woosha has worked this year) but if Lynch was to play it would be due to Carroll being axed

good to see Lynch named but I dont think he'll make the cut. Munro will also get the chop, but I think Humm will be forced to get it as well, because they could stretch us for height down back as Fletcher may go forward, meaning Carroll will be required to help out.

So my guess is Lynch, Munro and Humm gone.

I really think we can stretch them for pace up front - they have Fletcher, Wellman and Jacobs who are all pretty tall. Given we only have Jako 190cm+ they may move Fletcher up forward (as above).

I think Lynch will stay in and Cox may be out. The Eagles have been doing strange things with Lynchy.

Not being played forward.
Running longer.
Helping out in the ruck.

He has trimmed down a hell of a lot and almost looks to be the same body size as Jako. Looks a lot more Aerodynamic.

Allesio has been known to cause us problems when going forward and I don't think Cox is as good in the air as Lynch.

strange STRANGE logic
Form against someone who isn't even recognised as a ruckman.

Even Carroll could have rucked well against Richmond.

Stafford and Coughlan were named in Richmonds 18 last week.

Are you saying the Eagles definitely play those it names in the 18?

Bingo.

Lloyd will run Macca ragged. Glass is the best man for the job here and I would predict Glass to play on the bench with Macca getting first option.

I am not sure if Lynch will get a game as Woosha may have named him as a match up only to get Essendon thinking. We have played well with a smaller set up and I just believe in not changing a winning side.

It will be a hard game for us over there. It won't be easy and it may be the game that ends our winning run. Essendon always brings out the best against WC and they seem to come up with the magic everytime. Utter Ba$tardos.

However, having said that, we seemed to have knocked over a few hoodoos this year, with the milestones being on the right side of the ledger this year and a couple of wins interstate, maybe the football gods are smiling upon us. :)

I'd be really happy with a win against the nemesis.

Go Glass.

As I said before, they will play unless they get injured or Woosha is playing games.

No, You said he would play because he is in the 18. Nothing about being injured or Woosha playing games. You may have said that about Glass but not Cox. Just because you are in the 18 doesn't mean you will get a game.

Well, they will get a game unless they are ruled out by injury.

Isnt anybody else a little baffled as to why Duncan Kerr isnt in the starting 18? I see absolutely no reason why he wouldnt start on the ground, he is in the top 5 players at the club??

Essendon's talls are Lloyd, Lucas, Wellman, Fletcher, Hille and Alessio. Two or three of those will play forward at any given time you would think. With Lloyd at FF, Lucas CHF and perhaps Fletcher or Alessio moving forward. If this is the case we will need 3 talls down back. So Carroll will not be dropped to help out Glass and McIntosh in the backline.

Humm and Munro dont deserve to be dropped but may have to make way anyway. Lynch I dont think will make the side. So IMO the bench will be Carroll, Morrison, Braun and Kerr (why is he on the bench???)

When Kerr made his comeback against Collingwood, I couldn't help but notice he'd certainly lost a fair amount of match conditioning due to his stay on the sideline. He was moving well, but by the final quarter, he looked unbelievably buggered. Ditto last week. I suppose the coaching staff are planning on using him sparingly he's back to peak physical fitness.

McIntosh will play. Coming off a weeks rest, he'll be raring to go against Lloyd. I'm guessing that for the rest of the season Milli'll take a break every 4-5 games to keep himself fresh.

As for the other two defensive talls, Glass is definitely not going anywhere, but there is *some* chance that Lynch would replace Carroll, simply to give the Hulk a run and see how he goes. Assuming Fido is tiptop, Chick will come in for either Munro or Humm.

Perhaps but he injured himself in round 5. Missed rounds 6 and 7 but has played the last two game, another week on the track too and you wonder just how long it will take him to back to his peak. You would think with two games behind him and 3 weeks of training he would be right as rain. I suppose we will just have to see how he goes on the weekend.

I think Kerr has been a little forgotten this year. Even though Cousins has been down on form because of injury, he is always talked about. Judd continues his rise to prominence and Chick has really started to turn it on. Also Fletcher and Jones are huge surprise packets who have really lifted their games this season. With Kerr missing a couple of games with injury, it would seem he has been shuffled to the back. Despite all that he is still averaging bang on 20 disposals a game. We will be even stronger once Kerr get's his A game going.

Kerr and Braun have been named on the bench because of match ups. Essendon have a pretty tall team and Kerr and Braun are two of the shortest players at the club behind Phil Matera. If it was against anyone else Hunter would be on the bench as would Cox - and thats where Kerr and Braun would be included in the 18.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Carrol dropped for Lynch. Lynch has been playing well forward and back for West Perth.
