I would have thought after last weeks effort Russell was being brought in to play that role he played across the half forward line he played once Rats took over last year. Can't say I'm happy with him coming in but, nor am I happy with Jackson being dropped. This should be Russell's last chance for mine. Don't like Griig being dropped, we need to develop a solid back six and he is part of that.

He only ever performed once in that role as a HFF (against collingwood).

He's been bandied around from position to position and frankly, i'm growing tired of being a man down every week he's named in the side.

Jackson has shown more in the few games he's played than Russell has shown in 3 years. Jackson's shut down job on Robert Harvey (while gathering more possessions than Harvey at the same time) is a much larger acheivement than Russell shutting downa half assed Luke Power in a Wizard Cup final.

JR is always praised for his disposal yet continuously butchers the ball and offers little to nothing by way of run (which is another facet of his game which is constantly talked up and overrated).

I show support for my side - and JR's inclusion after an average game on Saturday in the VFL where his disposal was only adequate is a disgrace.

"Oh but C4, JR offers run and a bigger body" - so what?, from what we've seen so far he looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. I've never once seen JR physically back up his team mates in a scuffle as Jacko does.

Unless Jacko is injured - Ratts has lost the plot.

This is a possibility - could explain the lack of game time against Richmond and why he isn't named as an emergency.

Also, looking at the Saints team, Clinton Jones was pretty good last week, so surprised to see him dropped. Don't be surprised to see him as a late inclusion (hopefully for Gehrig!).

I agree with you in that he shouldn't be back in but I'm pretty sure he played that role more than once. Almost certain he played in that game against the Saints were we lost by 10 points.
