Hah well that's one way to look at it. He wouldn't be my number 1 target (McGovern would be), but I'm somewhat confident that we have an interest in acquiring his services.

I don't know, I don't rate him. I don't like his attitude. I'd rather see Reid come good as I can't see McGovern leaving.

Neither can I in truth, but not in my wildest dreams would I have thought Beams, Griffen and Boyd would be at different clubs this time last year. I'd Hope we make him a $600k because you never know he might just say yes.

My opinion on the thread is similar to Jackcass'. Given the relative age profile of the current list in general, rather than the starting 22 as in 2010, I would expect a greater retention of players over the next 5 years. The only retirements I can see in the near future are Swan and Young. Everyone else has at least 3 years minimum left in them barring major injury.

I'd imagine we will see minimal delistings over the next few years as our squad develops.

Maybe. In practice though most of the young players we have will not be good enough to be ten year players. Its not a dig our our young players. It would be the same at any club. So sure we might delist 3 a year from the list for the next 5 years. But that is still 15/40 that has changed in that time. And then even if we keep players on the list it doesn't meant they are getting regular games. You probably would still only have maybe at best 13 players out of the 22 that are what would be considered in the best team, the rest would be developing players or journeymen. Life is hard and short for most players. Yet all fans reckon all their youngers have a good chance of making it. Statistically its not true at all.

Also just for the record when I say having a full career I mean playing consistently in the firsts for roughly 10 years. Not a journeyman that plays here and there until 28.
