I feel bad for leaving Richo out, but I just can't find a spot for him before anyone I've selected.

I may be wrong but without looking at the stats has Fev kicked more goals than Llyod, not sure?

You have to remember Lloyd kicked 100+ in 2000, 2001
He has kicked 681 from 189 games (Ave. 3.6)
Fev has kicked 573 from 185 games (Ave. 3.1)

Lloyd has had a pretty unlucky run with injuries as well. Definitely been a better full forward over the entire decade

I don't get it. Tredrea, Hall and now Riewoldt have been better than Brown. Brown has only performed at a level worthy of his reputation since 2007.

I think I've seen you post this about 200 times on BigFooty, and I fear it is starting to become a myth. Brown was one of our most important players even at a very young age. People say Brown had a great team around him, but for anyone who remembers we struggled (comparatively) to win games without him. He may have been under rated by those who rely on stats, but his enormous influence was obvious when you watched him.

Anyone who counts how many AA teams a player has made as a measure of how good they are is delusional. There are so many examples where players haven't been in the squad or the 22 when its obvious they should have been and this years AA team has highlighted how bad it really is.

Yeah, agree with this. Tredrea backers hang their hat on All Australian selections, but it is just a subjective (and often controversial) award with limited criteria by not necessarily respected judges (Adrian Anderson wtf?). Brown averaging almost twice as many brownlow votes is no less an argument to say who's better.

Fair to say Brown, Riewoldt and Tredrea probably all have a fair case for CHF in this side. I'd go with Tredrea because IMHO his best was/is THE best of these 3 players. No bias involved what so ever.

I've made about 200 posts admitting I was wrong since then. I've been overrating Tredrea too much. There isn't a lot between Riewoldt, Brown, Pavlich and Tredrea. Brown is a superstar and I went too far in trying to pump up Tredrea. I just thought too many people were rating them based on personalities. Brown comes across as the country boy everyone likes while people always seem to call Tredrea an ordinary individual. It should be based on playing ability and they are both extremely good power forwards.

2008 was more than a standout season.

And then we have 60 odd goals this year and 70 odd in 2007.

All as a half-forward.

Franklin should be in the side.
Seriously, are you being serious?

Riewoldt, Pavlich, Brown, Tredrea, Fevola, Hall and Lloyd would all get selected before him imo. Franklin has probably had the best individual season we have seen but for the whole decade he doesn't come close to the others.

B Harry O'Brien. Matthew Scarlett. Luke Hodge

C James Hird. Nathan Buckley. Simon Black

F Nathan G.Brown, Matthew Lloyd, Ben Cousins

Haha, I haven't heard from you for a while. Best team in the thread.

That is ridiculous! What about the first half of the decade where he didn't play? Look at almost every single one of the teams. Every player has played at least around 7 or 8 seasons at their prime. Franklin has played 3. And whilst 60 and 70 goals is decent, its pretty standard for a teams key power forward.

None of Tredrea's AA guernseys were controversial.

In fact, the only controversial decision involving Tredrea from the AA selectors is the fact that he was completely left out of the 2005 AA side despite being statistically very similar to Pavlich and leading his club into the finals. The other gun CHFs of the decade have managed flank or bench spots when they were pipped for the CHF spot, but Tredders was left out completely. A complete joke.

Tredrea was fortunate that he peaked before the other gun CHFs of the decade reached their prime.
