Team Round 5

If the game is an evening game on a cold Tassie night (minimum 10 and rain forecast) then it wouldnt seem the best time to play Kennedy. I mean hardly ideal conditions for a tall marking target.

That seem reason probably means that Cockie will play - coming in late for a taller, marking player .... one would assume that Hansen & Hunter are the logical late outs as Brown would likely be the only other tall they could "rest" and he is (currently) more versatile and more mobile than the 2 I named.

Very wet according to forecasts. I wouldn't leave hansen out - Lynch still needs to back up in the ruck and Hansen can at least play the position.

If it looks ok - as named. If very wet, Cockie for Hunter, Brown or Schofield I'd reckon...

Schofield and Brown have both been named but Larri.

The new Kennedy Curse

I'm surprised you'd make a knee-jerk, rubbish comment like that.

You're better then that!

Ok, let me rephrase.

He isn't up to it yet.

I know he is young, doesn't have much weight on him and is coming off OP, but I haven't seen him do anything special yet.

We all know that he is going to be a good player, but I reckon he needed to go back to the WAFL a few weeks back.

Also Kennedy needs to play!

I like this team except for Hansen. Would of liked to have seen Kennedy in their since it's supposed to be wet. I'm excited to see Cockie off the rookie list too. Still, things can change before game day! Gonna be a tough game but with Hawthorn struggling to put together a backline this is as great a chance as any to take advantage of them.

Totally agree. They did the same thing to Ebert also. I reckon they getting the mix right. If only they made an excuse for Fletcher and he was not really injured last week.

Coming off OP, or still feeling the effects. I dont think he has a cork, but thats just me.

So the team is apparently...

Backs: Wirrpanda Glass Mackenzie
Half-backs: Hurn Hunter A Selwood
Centres: Rosa Priddis Staker
Half-forwards: Butler Hansen Embley
Forwards: McKinley Lynch LeCras
Followers: Cox Kerr Stenglein
Interchange: Brown Jones Nicoski Schofield
Emergencies: Cockie Fletcher Kennedy

In: Butler
Out: Masten (cork)

Probably our strongest team so far this year.
Good to see a minimum amount of changes and finally they bring in a player who was playing well at WAFL level not just a player who was replaced for an injury.
I cant actually see a place in the side for Hunter, If the reports are correct then Emac will get Roughy and Glass to get Franklin with M.Brown on either Williams or Cambell Brown and lend assistance to the other 2 defenders when available.
I think that Hunter may be replaced by Cockie which would be a great move, seeing as the Hawks have a few youngsters playing in the midfield.
eg: Moss, Tuck, Stockes and Morton and Shoenmakers is a chance of a late call up for Mitchell apparently.
If we have eg: Hurn, Butler, Embley and Selwood with Cockie coming in for hunter we would have a definate edge over them in the middle when rotations happen.

Give Hunts the weekend off and give em a piece of Cockie.:p

Not necessarily.

Usually teams only take one or two across.

oh my bad, i thought they took the whole squad over... what happens if 3 of their players get injured in the warm up (worst case scenario but still slightly possible) they wont have any replacements

Gee I hope it rains - I think it will definitely suit our "blue-collar" midfield (Kerr and Priddis will just relish it) and it'll make it harder for Hawthorn to penetrate our zone. Plus I think it may quell the influence of Franklin and Roughead as well. Not to mention Wirra is just the MASTER in wet conditions.

True, Hawthorn certainly have some hard nuts who could knock us around a bit, but we've gone over with a very physically mature side. In fact if anything we'll knock them around - they have a fair amount of kids in there and I like to think we're a pretty hard-at-it side nowadays.

Someone who knows Cockie.
I'm gonna take that to the bank. Someone on Bigfooty says they know someone who knows Cockie, and somebody has told him he's definitely playing on the weekend.

Can you see why it's kind of pointless framing the 'intelligence' in the way you did?
