Been fervent discussion since Thursday about the baffling selection decisions . NFI etc. etc. etc

Lets see hom many can get on here and eat a little humble pie and admit they were wrong .

Team selection went a long way to deciding this game :thumbsu:

Too true IDDY,

I was watching the pregame when they showed parts of last years match and Mitch Morton bombing it form outside 50 in the rain, LMAO @ the fall out from that game about poor ol Mitch, (although it did put a nail in Terry's coffin) yet today for some reason he isnt in our side ..... gee maybe some people owe Dimma a written apology.

Midgets were good in the pouring rain. If it's dry next week they would want to change up the structure big time though. Another tall defender, more height around the ground, etc.

Whitey was great today, a few fantastic passages. I can't see too many players to be dropped this week, which may force Posty, Morton and Browne to continue sticking it out despite their good form, especially with Foley and Simmonds most likely coming in.

thought tambling was great. in there tackling and putting pressure on. i dont think the stats give credit to how he was chucking his body on the line and not getting a stat but effecting the play.

Some guys need to pull there heads in and let Dimma pick a team, for the reasons he wants to pick them. We need to realise that we are not always going to be privy to his reasons, but that the reasons are justified.

I thought Rance would have been perfect for todays game tbh.
i thought he would have been alright too...at times I thought we were one small too many...king, Nason, white, tambling, Nahas...they all contributed, Tambling got some good touches in last qtr...whitey was brilliant, NEVER lost his feet, not once

here here i still maintain you cannot go each week with 10 midgets.

yep i was wrong this week the way the weather was they got it right re selections it seems.

anyway im not going to belittle the win its all you can do no matter the circumstances. all we can really ask is they have a red hot go in those conditions and they did.

Graham, Griffith, Astbury, Polak, Reiwoldt, McGuane - today was probably one of the tallest sides we've had this season. Simmonds will come in for his farewell next week, probably at the expense of Polak. They may also omit one smaller player and bring one of Rance, Thursty or Post, but there wont be wholesale changes I wouldnt think.

yeah .. fair enough Crum , but it more the resting of Thursfield that was a masterstroke. Not much chop when the pill hits the ground and given the conditions ...

We still only had 1 genuine KPD (2 if you count Moore), 1 genuine ruck, Polak is only 194cm and a stop-gap. I wasn't necessarily talking about the talls we had anyways, I was talking about all over the field. Nearly half our team (9 or 10 players) were 180cm or under. They went well in the wet but that type of set-up will get exposed by the Saints under the Ethiad roof. Way too small.
