Keays>>>>>Symes without a doubt

B&F would reflect that I imagine

i started a thread almost 20 years go saying Dogga Doughty >>>> Symes and Begley. Was not a highly supported position at the time

Man you have nailed this at first glance. Well done. Unbelievable talent lost here…most at peak of powers with a few clear exceptions like Eddie, Rehn, Welsh and Godra. See Rehn in Byron quite often…very chilled dude these days

Was the Jarman - Wellman - Salmon deal done in this way because multi-club trades weren't allowed?

Was the Jarman - Wellman - Salmon deal done in this way because multi-club trades weren't allowed
no from memory it was a straight 3 way trade between all clubs which was allowed

Salmon Dons->Horks
DJ Horks->Crows
Wellman Crows->Dons

Big picture, Crows were clear winners with Jars integral for our 2 flags. Dons did well getting a young star Wellman for the best part of a decade. Horks fans still pi$$ed with the trade as the clear losers but they did pinch Jars when we first joined the competition and he had a hand shake agreement to join the Crows before a bundle of cash and/or new car was provided to Jars by Horks benefactors

We gave pick 25 directly to Hawthorn for Jarman, and received pick 45 directly from Essendon for Wellman

I guess it depends on whether you think it was a combined trade or two seperate trades

I did think of Maric... but went Hudson instead... but not much in it.

I personally have Keays ahead of Symes for his gut running & hair lol.

This just shows that since 98 we have lost talent over and over, more than we have brought in. Probably a major hurdle to succeeding.
We appear to be evening things up in the past few years.

We are locking down our young talent long term.
