Totally agree.

I think the Dees are heading in the right direction too...

I don't see much progress at Bomberland.. Knights promised the world and has delivered very little... I don't think Sheedy would have done much worse...

You're comments are totally ignorant. Knights has had to redevelop our list and has done a great job of developing our younger players.

Our list is very young and our future looks very bright. We didn't have to bottom out like Melbourne did.

Melbourne has bottomed out the last fews year and has been able to nab some of the best talent around but they still sit behind us on the ladder.

Time will tell how good Brad Scott and Bailey end up being.

I'm not fixed on Knights being our saviour and his game plan is flawed but to deny the great job he has done with our list is an injustice.

That's it. I've given up.

T.Slattery is the only decent inclusion this week..

Until Knights is shown the door... I expect absolutely nothing from the Dons...

30 years for supporting and membership for this rubbish. Sick of it.

Hope we have enough balls to nab Malthouse as coach. We have a solid list but no idea how to use it.

I'm crossing my fingers that we bottom out this year and take the spoon... that would actually make me happy.. think it's the wake up call we need...

North Melbourne, Richmond and Melbourne are far better coached than we are..

Too many people here are happy living in mediocracy..

I'm over it.

Malthouse as coach?? you gotta be kidding me. I'd rather have Terry Wallace come out of coaching retirement that have Malthouse coaching the bombers.

What you don't seem to understand, and you aren't alone either, is that the team has lost around 600 games experience from last year and are restructuring down back and up forward. Essendon's best is by far flag contending football but when our game is off we get exposed and look like a cellar dwelling side. Wins against the saints, dogs and hawks are all testament to when the game plan clicks we are unstoppable.

Getting game time into gumby, hurley and melksham as well as depth players like quinn, t.slats and belly is more what this year has been about. Yeah I'm upset too at some of the performances but there are way too many upsides than downsides to the bombers to want to change coaches.

We are screaming out for another high quality midfielder and a sweeping half back flanker and only trade week will decide if we fill those positions. Yes there are list cloggers aka hank, lonergan, houli, dyson but they'll all offer great value in trade week to hopefully bolster the list and prove the bombers as a force for the next decade.

I can understand why some people are a little upset by the way Knights has treated Houli.. but at the end of the day.. it doesn't really matter... we'll end up either trading or delisting him.. his future at the EFC is basically over...

He'll end up at other club, get the game time he deserves and become a better player as a result... eg. Teddy "The Bear" Richards...

We just need to face the facts.

Cause Richards has turned out to be such a gun player and all.:confused::confused:

Team looks ok all things considered. I think quinn will play up forward though, and reimers to play off half back. Hocking and Jetta both to get runs in the midfield, and lonergan to play a negating role on johncock.. otherwise knights might try henry in that role.. but probably not, i think that a bit too ... creative.. for knighter.

Me too. You think Scott and Bailey are better coaches than Knights. ****ing come on.

If you don't think Quinn is up to it, may be you should be asking questions about our depth and Dodoro, not of the selection of Quinn who deserves elevation for reward.

Wasn't it Dodoro who wanted Barlow, and Knights opted for Hardingham:confused:

lonergan is just there to give the members hope that they will get a game. if you spud it up all the time and have a terrible footy build you are still a chance to get a game at the bombers.

are you for real????, he is constantly putting his body on the line, he may not be the quickest but he has decent skills, a decent footy brain and he gives his heart and soul for the team, you obviously have never watched him play because i would pick lonergan in our side every week, comparing him to people who are not playing at this level, get a clue!!!

H. Slattery left the track early today and then returned to complete a fitness test. The test involved short to medium sprints and picking up the ball among other things, so it could be his hammy that is troubling him again.

Houli and Monfries were the only others not named in the 22 that trained so you would expect Houli to replace Slattery if he doesn't get up.

Stants also left the track mid-way through the session, but returned quickly and trained fine.

I don't think some people are really aware of just what condition Sheedy left our list in.

Thanks for the info :thumbsu:

So you've been going along to VFL games and watching him play? Know the instructions he's been given when playing in the seniors? Know him personally?

Seriously, the love affair with Houli has to stop. He's currently a depth player and not the saviour of our midfield.

I've seen him play three times live and once on TV, he has been in the best hanful of players on the ground in every one of those games. I don't know what his instructions were but he got the ball a lot in every game, ran hard, went in hard, tackled well and disposed of it well, I assume the coaching staff are looking for all these things.

This has nothing to do with a love affair. He is simply a far better player than some of the crud that we keep playing, he also has potential to be a very good contributor unlike some others.

Pleased with the inclusion of Reimers & T Slattery. Not sold on the inclusion of Quinn, would rather have Howlett, Dyson, Myers, Houli, Williams ... Etc. This is a very important game, and playing Quinn seems a little questionable.

Continue to wonder what Lonergan & H Slattery have done in recent weeks to warrant their selection.

if h.slatts is even the slightest bit iffy he cannot play. he's already slow enough without carrying a tight hammy. is gona be cold and possibly wet in adelaide tonight so we need 22 100% fit soldiers to take into battle...dyson or demps to come in as emergency for slatts.

Don't agree with that at all.

So you don't rate Malthouse as a coach? Interesting.

Richards got his chance to play at Sydney.. at the Bombers he's a bit player getting less and than fair break.. Houli should ask to be traded..

Never wish an injury on a player but this is wonderful for the team. As long as he is made to earn his spot back in the side through the VFL meaning it takes him longer to get back in and might not even do so.

Doesn't bother me who comes in as both Houli and Dempsey would contribute positively to the side.

Good to see Tyson Slattery will play his first AFL game. :thumbsu:

But at Full Back? Isn't he a bit small to line up on either Walker or Tippett

Also really dissapointed to not see Williams or Dempsey in the team.

Slattery vs Tippett will not, could not happen.

Surely. It'll be Zac Dawson mark II.

Hes a couple cm shorter than walker and around 5kg lighter so big challenge, hooker to tippet is a good match up.

Not sure if you got it from afc website or not but Walker is actually 192cm and 97kg. AFC website hasnt updated height and weight for a while.
