I'm happy for McManus to get a game if we get a couple of injuries, but Crowley, Dodd, Peake, Medhurst and Murphy are all named on the bench, and all 5 should be in the side ahead of Macca.

McManus had 3 very kickable shots for goal in the second half against the Saints in Tassie last year and missed all three.

do you think mcmanus is thinking about retirement and wants to quit after 2 games? would also solve the duffield problem.

I just saw that Connolly is expecting a defensive scrap. Obviously failed to watch the Round 9 tapes from last season which we were murdered with speed. People who say Peake is nothing exceptional he's just a solid newbie with a bit of toe is underrating his ability to have an impact...particularly against a quick team.

Frustrating thought, for Connolly's sake I hope this move comes off!

Wouldnt Murphy Johnson And Gilmore All Be Fighting For Chb Posi.so Drum And Two Of Those Should Miss Out.schofield Or Macca Mmmm Tough One:d .maybe They Should Interchange Between Macca And Peake And Headland.
maybe peake was left out for reasons other than form, personal, fitness, training effort etc....it is a strange one

Tough on Peake. He did a couple of bad kicks against the Cats. Mabey his suspect kicking has resurfaced and the committee thinks he needs a run in the WAfl to see how he goes. I will say I'm just about his number one fan. I watch him more closely than most of the other players, He will be back and he will become a regular again.

Taking Drum seems a bit of a strange move. If Perth was having a bye this week I could understand it.

I'm glad Macca got a game. If their was something going on that was alluded to in previous threads and he was the person hinted at, mabey this is a sign that all is well.
Kelly O'Donnell as good as said last week he would be in the team. CC said his disposal has improved as a result of a couple years of skills coaching. He is good both sides of his body and if he plays on the wing were he is best suited then we should see the best of him this year.

Now if every player wasnt looking over their shoulder before they will be now.

We have Grover, Peake, Hayden, Polak and Cook all should be cherry ripe for next week. With Haddril, Thornton and Drum(?) in the mix win lose or draw there is going to be some pressure on a few spots.

Looking forward to the game.

With Grover, Polak, Hadrill and Thornton out, and Parker likely to play on Williams, we really need both Murphy and Johnson in the side to cover the 2 hawthorn tall forwards. Happy Gilmore has played across half forward during the preseason, so I assume he will stay there.

They have been talking up Peakers form all summer, so I can't understand why he has been left out.

Hawks by 17pts, at least.

Ted38 your comments are not welcome...anyone comparing Polak to McDougall obviously needs a lobotomy.

Re Peake - it is a joke as far as I'm concerned.

I'm hoping Drummy gets a run this week, I see no point to him travelling when he could have got some action playing for perth...i reckon he will play & either Dodd will miss out or Medhurst is injured, as it appeared he hurt his groin in training this week.
