Happy with that side and apart from Presti very close to the strongest side we can field.

I still think Paul Medhurst is in Collingwood's best team.

Very good inclusion, however I thought we could have used Jack, especially with Medders out.

Also, not including another key defender is perhaps a worry. Hawkins, Mooney and Pods are three talls and all we have is Brown and Reid. It's almost certain that Maxy is going to have to play on one of them for mine- most likely Hawkins who is the least dangerous one.

Thinking that Macaffer may play more in the forward line this week... or Sidebottom who has been doing a really good job there too.

Our midfield will be very strong, especially in contested situations with Ball, O'Bree and Wellingham going in hard.

Hawkins will play lots in the ruck anyway. When he goes forward Maxy will take him just like Walker for Carlton did and ran off him as he isn't a very good overhead mark.

Blergh. Forward line doesn't look it's best. I'm interested as to why we wouldn't retain JA in the team with Medders not playing. Caff definitely is a solid performer, but I would have thought we'd put our best foot forward. (Awesome pun intended.)

I doubt Hawkins will spend time up forward, will mainly just play the second ruck role. We might not play Lonergan with Anthony out.

Would like Presti in there, but it is only round 9, save him for the second half of the year.

Also Sharrod in for Jack is the right move, Jack did little last week, untill Dawes and Cloke falter, there is no room for him.
I'd rather play small as the forward pressure from Steele, Dids, Leon is so valuable for our gameplan.

And Geelong don't have 3 tall forwards, Hawkins is a back-up ruckmen these days and Maxwell can easily cover him when he goes forward.

Good selection overall.

Still too much Shane O'Bree (especially considering he'll be playing HFF essentially), but could be worse.

We need strong experienced bodies against Geelong. They get their run from midfield if going to have Wellers, Sidebottem, Beams and lets not forget Pendelbury and Thomas are still young then you need some old heads. We now have the luxury of Ball and O'Bree which means Swan becomes the x factor. So what is the problem?

I'd say Leon would stay forward until Dick gets back into the seniors, then Leon might be released to the midfield a little more.

Leon led the league in inside 50 tackles going into last weeks game, and while he didn't do a heap last week, that is still an impressive stat.

I'm confident of a very good showing, can not be super confident of a win, just because of who our opposition is.

Even though I'd rather Presti be in the side, I'm kind of glad he isn't, as it allows Brown and Reid to get even more experience in defence against one of the best teams in the comp.

Confusing to see JA out, I thought he was fairly good last week. Had a handful of goal assists and applied good pressure in our forward 50.

Yeh, Anthony looked encouraging last week. Not sure what Mick was after from him to be honest, he directly contributed to at least 4 goals off the top of my head, and seemed to work hard.

Reasonable side. Would've taken O'Bree out for Wellingham personally, but I'm happy enough.
