Just had a look at the post about Betts and the Bullants game. Bannister wasnt in the best so why would we be looking to promote him. I believe he has ability but IMO cracks under pressure. Amongst other things shows a lack of discipline with his tackling. Has been given many opportunities and whilst having shown promise at times has not been solid or consistent.

I believe that Simpson would be better to promote. He has once again dominated for the Bullants. Would also like to see him and Betts get at least 3/4 of a game on the ground. They seem to be on and off the bench like yo yos. Davies too would benefit from more ground time.

Well it looks like Fev might escape after all. So here's the new team if Fev gets off:

B: Carrazzo, Thornton, Norman

Should be a good match

Agree. Eddie was sensational for the Bullants, and we probably made a mistake by not playing against Freo. Bentick for Sporn. Bentick played some very good games at the end of last year. A promising in-and-under midfielder type. Bowyer has to go. Puts in, but his skills let him down. Bannister must get a go. Tall, fast, defensive midfielder, something we really need when we give guys like Stevens, Scotland and Campo who are all out attack. :)

This is what I think the Hawk team will look like:

FB: Brown - Jacobs - Osborne
HB: Hodge - Croad - Dixon
C: Bateman - Mitchell - Lewis
HF: Clarke- Barker - Thurgood
FF: Williams - Roughead - Franklin
R: Everitt - Crawford - Vandenberg

INT: Ries - Taylor - Beaumont - Miller

IN: Ries
OUT: Ladson (inj.)

Did you even watch the Fremantle game or are you just dropping Wiggins based on past form? Wiggins had 16 classy disposals this week, and must of dived back into packs three or four times. He'd be one of the last players I'd drop.

Sick of hearing supporters slagging us off but even more so those crying out for wiggo to be dropped. This guys gives his all every game and has shown it the last two games where he has been in our best. People should also note he began as forward and was sent back because of the depletion of tough blokes down back the past 3 years.

Thankfully Pagan has a lot more faith in him that all the internet experts.

Another Wiggins fan! It's estonishing that one player can cause such a rift through the Carlton fans on this board. I guess it's a trade-off between guts(which Wiggo has in abundance) and talent ( of which my grandma has more of). A good side usually has a balance of both players. Occasionally a side will lack toughness and occasionally a side will lack finishing skills. In everyone's oppinion, what do you think we lacked more of on Saturday?..

I would say the latter. FWIW, It doesn't mean we have to drop Wiggins, but we should drop someone in that category..... Bowyer anyone?

There's no way Wiggins (touchwood) will get dropped after another brave game on the weekend. Davies should go before Chief as he gets ample opportunities to perform but still hasn't discovered consistency.

In Betts Prendergast (if fit) Scotland
Out Bowyer Davies Longmuir

Can't drop Longmuir if Fevola is rubbed out.

Who the ******** is going to play on Mark Williams? It might have to be Wiggo!
The Willaims match-up worries me the most in this game.

Got to be Sporn. Can't see much else.

IMO, we have a number of different options we could use on Williams. Personally, i'd start with Lappin. After that we could use, in no particular order, Teague, Norman, Carrazzo, Sporn and Wiggins.

My main worry would be Crawford, as he generally kills us through the midfield. Not sure if we really have a good match up for him.

As for the changes, i'd possibly go for:

IN: Scotland, Betts, Morrell, Bentick
OUT: Fevola, Bowyer, Davies, Johnson

JOHNSON! u have to be joking
this is my team:

IN: scotland, betts, bentick,
OUT: fevola, bowyer, wiggins,

Not playing Betts was a mistake. We desperately need someone who is on the ground for Fev and Whitnall, cos let's face it, they're not taking marks at all.

I wouldn't drop Davies but I would drop Bowyer cos I don't think he's a good fit for us. Scotland would obviously come back in straight away.

So Betts & Scotland in, Fev and Bowyer out, restructure the forward line to have Whits at FF and DeLuca at CHF, Norman CHB and Thornton FB. Fair second string spine in my mind.
