pretty even ins and outs

That makes it easier for us IMO. McDonald and Sylvia are massive outs for Melbourne plus they always smash us. Bally is a big out for us but don't think Johnson is a real big out as his been struggling the last few games. Just hope we have that intensity from the first bounce or else it's gonna be another hard game to watch like Round 2.

The best 22 available is playing against Melbourne. Right team of players. :thumbsu:

Having Dawes + JA in the 2s was the right move so that you can have a direct compairson between the pair.

Dick it's still a little early to bring in. And Goldsack could also do with a few more games to show that he can stay injury free.

So I restate. Selection :thumbsu:

Jones won't get up from what I've heard.

Sylvia is a massive loss for Melbourne as well, he is the one bloke that can really turn it on for Melbourne if he is on song.

Melbourne look very, very young on paper. I'd be a bit disappointed if we didn't exert ourselves and run over them in the 2nd half, although I expect Melbourne to put up a good fight. They always seem to enjoy playing on Queen's Bday, much more than we do anyway.

And going by today Dawesy was superb. Jack needs game time.
Dawesy was easily the best of the two today.Just good to have two young forwards playing in the VFL. Will only help in future years.:thumbsu:

Correct selection, Barham replaces Johnson, Lockyer goes to half forward and Beams and/or Sidebottom get added to the midfield rotation.

Sylvia kills us every time he plays us, even if we win, so he's a huge out, and I couldn't care less how much we win this match by, as long as we win fairly comfortably.

Big game, to go 9-3 with a 12 day break upcoming would really set us up for the last 10 games.

We are very lucky.

Sylvia, Mcdonald and Jones all out. Three mature bodied players that they would already lack if they were fit. They are very skinny, you'd think they are tiring, and ripe for the slaughter. We could belt them on Monday. Should be a relaxing and an enjoyable game.

Yeah lets not start this relaxing enjoyable game shit again

Let's just win

Melbourne didn't have Sylvia in Rd.2 either. I think some of you might be underrating Melbourne a bit, Green and Davey can be just as damaging as Sylvia, they're the players we need to shut down. Who knows with their young kids, they might come out and put in a blinder.

I think we'll win but there's no way I'll ever go in to a game as confident as Rd.2, I've learnt my lesson after that.

Presti didn't play vs. Melbourne in Rd 2 though. I'd say that might be the last we see of Green for a while. :p

From a spectators perspective it should be a relaxing, enjoyable game. My self, even if we are 15 goals up I am very exciteable, particuarly when Neon Leon is running amok, irregardless of where the Pis are at.

So to say a relaxing win, is an oxy-moron, (is that the right analogy) as I can't be relaxed but you know what I mean.

We are the supporters. It is not up to us to be 'switched on'. The mentality that the supporters need to be switched on (and my behavour has been guilty of this in the past) results in people sledging the opposition supporters. and vice verca, which leads to fights etc It is absurd behaviour when you think about it. We arn't the players. The reality is, we (the supporters) want this to be an enjoyable game, where we can be somewhat relaxed as it really should be this way with the side the Dees will have on the park.

I remember doing a medical trial last year, it was the Lions game, as the Lions were coming back they checked my heart rate, it sky rocketed up to 100bpm. I was nervous and agitated, far from a relaxed state, they had to make a note, (watching the footy) had the Pies blown them away it would have been a bit higher than usual, my guess around 70-80bpm, far less than what it was in my panicked state as the knob that is jonathon Brown was potting goals with the Lions storming back.

I think our guys are prepard for this. The thing is, two years ago, Melbourne came out and played with steam coming out of there ears. It was a very physical contest.

MM said something about blockbusters, he said, how do you tell your side, its a big game this week, we are playing a top four side, for several weeks, than have to say, this is a big game this week, it is a 'blockbuster', their grand final, and the be all and end all for them. (along those lines and an amuzing rant)

Last year we smoked them in the first. I think it will be the same this year, or at least we should try and blow them early, it is a very young an inexperienced side, their heads could drop very soon if we get some momentum, given that any momentum we have will be supportered by a forward line packed with explosives. (of the smaller variety)

LOL, you must be pretty fit, 100 BPM is not very high to "sky rocket", unless you're on beta blockers. :p

haha yeah i am rasonably fit. In a relaxed state I can drop to the low fourties. I think my lowest recording was 38bpm.

100 is very high when you are sitting on your bed. 100 is dangerously high when one has taken out an important variable; physical excercise. Although a close footy game when one is shitting themselves is a decent explanation.

A healthy heart rate should be somewhere between 40-100. That is considered normal.

What would a Melbourne player or supporter know about Grand finals.:p

I might be worried if Melbourne came out and said they were treating it as a normal game, but a Grand Final relaxes me.:D

Played you in 7 of them, won 6.

Should be a good game, better than the last couple of years.

Haha, while a heart rate of 40 could well be healthy, it is certainly not normal. If it was, we probably wouldn't be one of the most obese countries on Earth, per capita. 100 is less healthy, but more normal if anything. ;)

I agree though, if your heart rate is pushing 100, and you're not exercising or having sex, you'd want to be pretty adrenaline-flushed for some other good reason!

Flattered that you would know so much about the history of 'head to head' grand final clashes with Collingwood of the top of your head. Your attitude is the reason why Melbourne will be pumped for their 'grand final' and why our players should be switched on.

Anyways, besides that rant, the one grand final we beat you in ws one of the most famous grand finals of all time, 1958. ;) You'll never win four in a row.
