Yes.

Mostly because others have been out with injuries and had a few shockers. But I'm pretty sure Dyson would be in the top 10 (maybe 15) in the B&F at the moment. He has been in our best 3 at least twice.
10 players who i think have played better than him thus far (not in any order):
1. Lloyd
2. Fletch
3. Mal
4. McPhee
5. Stanton
6. Watson
7. Lovett
8. Davey:(
9. McVeigh
10. Hille

Houli and Ryder have also been better than him and so have Lonergan and Reimers in the games they have played in. Possibly a few more

1. Lloyd Missed too many. Went missing in a couple (Geelong and St. Kilda).
2. Fletch Ahead of Dyson
3. Mal Ahead of Dyson
4. McPhee Ahead of Dyson, but not by much.
5. Stanton Just ahead of Dyson
6. Watson Ahead of Dyson
7. Lovett Missed a few.
8. Davey For sure ahead of Dyson.
9. McVeigh Missed a few but still way ahead.
10. Hille Ahead for sure.

Ryder is also ahead of him. Lonergan isn't. Reimers certainly isn't. Houli is near or just ahead.

Slattery isn't, Nash isn't, Jetta isn't, NLM isn't, Welsh isn't, Laycock isn't, Monfries isn't, Winders isn't, and everyone else hasn't played enough, and is still behind on those that they have played.

He's around 8-13th.

Boy oh boy.

Lloyd's kicked bags of 6, 5, 4, 3 and Dyson is ahead of him

NLM kicked 4 in round 1 and was good against the Pies when he completely shut down Thomas.

Winderlich has had an interrupted pre season yet the games he's played he's got more of the ball and been more effecive than Ricky.

Slattery has been better easily.

A tagger tagging a tagger

Actually yes, although Goodes is their premier mid, no way can Slattery go to him as he'll kill Slattery. Kirk is their 2nd most important mid and if we do a tag on him, it would shut down Goodes as he is a outside mid. Shut down Kirk, the outside mids won't get the pill!

Lloyd's kicked bags of 6, 5, 4, 3 and Dyson is ahead of him  Yep

NLM kicked 4 in round 1 and was good against the Pies when he completely shut down Thomas. NLM is one of my favourite players. Two games where he was ok doesn't make up for the fact he was pretty dodgy in others and missed some also.

Winderlich has had an interrupted pre season yet the games he's played he's got more of the ball and been more effecive than Ricky. No, I disagree.

Slattery has been better easily. Not even close.

Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion, but it's just that. Until the B&F results come out, that is.

It doesn't matter where Dyson finishes in the B&F because players who have suffered from injuries like Winderlich, Lucas and Davey are much better players than him. Dyson is in the team because like other players, Knights is seeing if he is good enough at the level. I'll agree that he is giving it a red hot crack but it's all been for little result. He has improved since last year but is still not in our best 22 players. I don't see a future for Dyson at Essendon but he still has this year and maybe next year to do prove himself

Its not that hard to contain Goodes.... Just chuck a big guy in front of him and hey presto, no clearances for the double Brownlow medallist.

The only reason he gets Best on Ground Performances is because his opponent is too lazy to get in front of him during stoppages.

Emergencies: Atkinson, and two of Johns, Dyson & Winderlich.

Hmm.

I'd guess Johns (see as one of the others is named on the field in Watson's place) and hard to pick the other. Prob Dyson.

Monfries getting another game. Ugh.

How good is it to have a coach that has generally done everything he said he was going to do from day 1?

And not showing overt favouritism to his "liked" players, ie Dyson.

He has pumped him up pre season, played him, given him every chance, he hasn't delivered, now he is dropped.

Very refreshing.
