Hey guys just want to know what sort of team you will be lining up to play the tigers. Just want to know who is injured and who is having a good preseason to who you might play in positions.

Cheers

A winning one.

Rare luxury having a near full list to chose from!

Questions
Will crawf be rested?
Who will play full back?

B: Jacobs Barker Osborne
HB: Vanders Croad Smith
C: Clarke Crawford Bateman
HF: Franklin Dixon Ladson
F: Williams Roughead Miller
Foll: Hodge Mitchell Everitt

Inter:(from) Young Lewis Birchall Taylor Sewell Boyle Kane

Croad will go with Richo all day
Dawson wont play based on the list available and comments HHq's
Brown to be rested
Barker may also be rested making way for Boyle
Birchall to get some game time
Kane a real smoky as AC needs to assess this bloke at AFL level and NAB cup is the best place for it
Vanders will play down back cause delivery into the forward line counts and he can't kick over a jam tin
Young, Lewis and Taylor will play
Campbell wont play back on Troy Simmonds cause he is soft as butter and hopeless in one on ones
Also Harry may add some zip and by all accounts is leading Yeah Yeah for a spot in the side

Int:Lewis, Campbell, Birchall, Kane, Young, Taylor

Croad will take Richo early, but I think they will chuck Roughie on him for a quarter to get him more experience on the big forwards.

Miller, Clarke, Ladson may find them self rotating through the pockets, flank and wing.
Williams will be the forward target but I think we may try dual leading forwards with dixon allowing miller to crumb.
Boyle will at CHF but might find himself going down backline for Roughead, and AC might experiment with Taylor and Campbell up forward.

Well we know one thing, Dawson will not be playing FB as he isnt named.

Not named:
Bailey - 1st year player
Beau Dowler - injured
Beau Muston - injured
John Barker ? (Injured/ rested)
Matthew Ball - no suprise there
Luke Brennan - injured?
Shane Crawford?
Zac Dawson -
Travis Tuck - 1st year
Josh Thurgood - recovering from shoulder op
Xavier Ellis - 1st year
+ the all the rookies, except for Gilham etc.

Hmmm, not really a great depth chart.

Birchall and Gilham (*rookie) are named aren't they?

Was hoping to see Tuck get a run.

Good to see both sides are fielding near-full-strength line-ups.
I think Crawford is our only notable absentee.
Tigers are missing Coghlan & Chaffey with injury but otherwise look very solid.

Better than the Swans (leaving half their premiership side out).
Will be a fair dinkum hit-out.

Here's my shot at the team:

Fb: Brown Boyle Murphy

Hb: Jacobs Croad Smith

C: Ladson Mitch Bateman

Hb: Vanders Roughy Franklin

F: Williams Everitt Guerra

R: Campbell Hodge Lewis

Int: Ozzy Miller Birchall Dixon Clarke Young

What i think might happen:

Campbell to take 1st shot at Ruck like Round 1 last year. Last 5-10mins of each quarter Campbell comes off the ground, Everitt into ruck, Franklin to full forward, Williams switching to HFF and Dixon into the pocket as our other leading forward.

Roughy/Boyle could easily swap positions during the match to give them experience at both ends of the ground.

Guerra and Miller will be swapping as the crumbing forward.

Birchall & Young to see some good game time on the wing.

Murphy to take Richmond's 3rd tall forward and possibly even given a shot at full back.

These are all my own thoughts and i haven't heard any inside info.

Hawthorn used to put everyone on the wing to start their career.

Jarman, Ablett, Kennedy to name a few.
That was around the same time they made players first serve a 150 game apprentiship in the 2's!.
Now we take them out of nappies and put them straight onto Archer, Hall or Gehrig!

Here's the official squad for Saturday (Crawford & Barker - no surprise - are most notables that were not included):

Peter Everitt, Jarryd Roughead, Jordan Lewis, Rick Ladson, Sam Mitchell, Mark Williams, Michael Osborne, Danny Jacobs, Chance Bateman, Joel Smith, Brad Sewell, Simon Taylor, Harry Miller, Luke Hodge, Nick Ries, Brent Guerra, Ben Dixon, Tim Boyle, Richard Vandenberg (C), Lance Franklin, Trent Croad, Tim Clarke, Tom Murphy, Campbell Brown, Grant Birchall, Robert Campbell, Stephen Gilham, Clinton Young

Birchall is the only draftee.
Stephen Gilham is the only rookie.

Omissions of Bailey, Ball, Brennan, Dowler, Ellis, Little, Muston, Thurgood, Tuck, and Kane were not surprises.

I was surprised to see Zac Dawson excluded.
It will be interesting to see which 3 of those selected end up as emergencies.
