Surely Johns and Dempsey are the only "Courtney"s to ever play the game?

I don't want to draw any conclusions other than what the data shows. You can then form your own conclusions. It's not supposed to be an exact science given were dealing with player performance, particularly young players.

It's not even clear in any way this has any validity whatsoever as a measure of 'youth ?quality'.

You've presented a ranking of averages and totals of various scoring systems which have many inherent biases to begin with.

Why would any sane person who knows numbers or research honestly consider this to have validity?

I appreciate you've gone to some effort and I have not. But you've put it up for discussion so it's fair game for criticism. So don't try and tell people when you say North doesn't deserve a priority pick that's what 'the data says'. It's your opinion okay and that's a fact.

would it be fair to say that the main reason Hawks are ranked first for totals is due to a much higher number of young players

Averages (or medians and standard deviations) would be more useful

Hawks are overall ranked second behind Fremantle.

But yes it is true that they are ranked highest for SC scores because they have the highest number of players. Having said that, Hawthorn is ranked 5th for AVERAGE SC behind Essendon, Freo, Gold Coast and Port (this is also weighted). Remember SC totals is only 1/5 of the weightings.

We win this contest.

Essendon do have a good young list and they rank first both for Supercoach and Player Ratings averages. But currently they have McGrath, Zerk-Thatcher, Ridley, Draper and Setterfield who will all drop out of these weightings on the 1st, January, 2024.

I suppose for Essendon they should be primed now for contending for a premiership, at least next year.

Still waiting for Nik Cox to get his sister on for Roaming Brian. If the unicorn kent could stop getting injured that would be great.

We care none for sister of Coxy.

We want him to replace Shiel and take his spot.

great work, although I would be more interested in 22 and under.

I feel 23-24 are potentially 100 game players and 24 is nudging a players prime
