Happened with a couple of Everton players the other night, with one red carded for violent conduct.

Certainly not the first time in the Premier League, there were a couple of famous examples in the 1990s.

I can’t recall this ever happening in our game? Maybe a few cross words but that’s just boring. Anybody got any examples at any level?

I can't remember another AFL player lightly slapping an opposition player, let along their team mate.

Been a few preseason fights plus verbal / pushes of team mates but that red card incident is about as soft as it gets.

its crazy how EPL players are so extremely well paid and still act so incredibly unprofessionally

Setanta gave it a crack at training.

James Sicily has pushed a fair few teammates who were trying to pull him away from the umpires!

The psycho Irishman kicked his own teammate hard while he was laying on the turf at training.

It was quite disturbing to see at the time. Never seen anything like it. Outrageous behaviour.

Now I wish all Carlton players would do it to each other from time to time..

It was a Cloke mate. Nothing to see here . They all deserved a boot up the clacker at some point, plus it was an easy stat for irishman as well

I am told the kicking is a cultural misunderstanding, in the Irish game a kick is a bit like an elbow or a jumper punch in ours.

Conversely they see a punch as an attack, quite vicious (same as we view a kick).

Maybe Clokey punched him and thus incensed him? Definitely a despicable act to kick or in any way attack a knocked out opponent, and Ó hĀilpin should have been banned for life.

Thread needs more cowbell Steven May.

Agree - I'd much rather get a kick in the arse, which is what Cloke got, than an elbow to the jaw, yet in our culture the kick is considered a more vicious ,violent act.

... Obviously if the kick is delivered Eric Cantona or Bruce Lee style then that might be a different story :D

In a game between Essendon and West Coast in 2005, Adam McPhee hit Kepler Bradley high in an attempt to spoil the ball and Bradley ended up with an eye injury. Could have been in trouble had it been an opposition player hit.

And let’s not forget Mark McVeigh’s brutal knee to Hirdy’s face in Perf.

A disgraceful act of unnecessary violence if I’ve ever seen one. .

The Lee Bowyer-Keiran Dyer fight when they were playing for Newcastle United against Aston Villa in the 2005-06 EPL season had to be seen to be believed, as was the press conference after the game where a furious Newcastle coach Graeme Souness forced both Bowyer and Dyer to face the media and apologise to the board and the club's supporters.

If I had millions of dollars of income on the line because of someone else’s idiocy, I reckon I’d be a bit more on edge than the guy I have to buy a beer for at the club after the game because he missed potting the 8-ball to win a pool game.

But if u already had 20 million in the bank wouldn't you be a bit more okay and not want to risk ur future money by acting like a moron?

Answer your own question? How many people do you see in the world worth $20m who are genuinely nice to people who might cost them MORE money?

I remember reading about it happening in the WAFL in the late 1960s when two Swan Districts players came to blows on the field

Jason Blake and Cain Ackland had a little push at the 3 qtr time huddle during a game in the mid 00s

Wasnt it a one hit knock out, and when the teammate was concussed on the ground, he kicked him in the balls?
