Hey guys sorry for another typical offseason thread but the real stuff isn't too far away..

Anyway i was reading the Josh Caddy article in the sun this morning and it mentioned he was living with Billy Smedts and Mitch Duncun, this got me thinking this group of boys would probably be pretty close.

Just wanted to know what other groups of players a better mates off-field, if anyone knows of any.

I'm pretty confident that some of our champion defenders are still very close e.g. Scarlett, Enright, Milburn, Harley and even Sanderson. These guys often spoke about how much they respected each other in interviews, it made it seem as like they had there only little boys club so to speak.

Out of the mids Kelly seems to be mates with everyone, back when Gaz was playing i'm pretty sure he was closest to Stevie J, Linga, Jimmy, Kelly and obviously Nathan when he was playing.

Up forward the two that come to mind are Stokesy and Moons. These two helped each other get through some hard times like missing grand finals and Stokesy incident in 2010. Also they seemed to love celebrating goals together.

Anyways I think it's interesting topic, let me know what you guys know.

Selwood and Hawkins are pretty good mates, having arrived at the club at the same time.

Varcoe, Stokes, Motlop and Christensen are pretty close too, for obvious reasons.

Hawkins and Selwood are best mates.
Its kinda funny really, both drafting in the same draft, both touted as top 3 picks and now our 2 most important players.

Caddy, Smedts and Duncan are constantly tweeting or putting up instagram photos of/with each other... as thick as thieves I am tipping.

I got the impression Chappy and Josh Hunt are pretty tight as well, often see them together in photos at the end of games, I remember they rocked up together for the family day after the 2011 flag

Smedts has a habit of falling asleep around the house with his hand down the front of his pants, Al Bundy style. Duncan has a habit of tweeting pictures of Smedts doing this. Ultimate buddy sabotage.
Sounds like self preservation if he's getting imaged while asleep.

Probably more interesting who isn't. Mcleod - Edwards for example
It's hard to imagine any of the premiership guys would be unpopular. Maybe some of the younger guys who have come from interstate aren't as close with the rest of the team.

Ablett and ex-cat Jason Davenport were and still are best mates.

In one of Kevin Sheedys books-Sheedy said when he was a young bloke at Richmond in the 1960s him and one of his premiership team mates Billy Barrot-(who was champion centreman -but did get reported for kicking a couple of times) hated each other so much -that they agreed to stay back at training one night -and wait till everyone left -and have a fist fight to settle their differences.TonyJewell was quoted as saying -that if Sheedy hadnt been restrained -he literally would have killed Barrot -so much for Premiership team mates
