Well 95% of the time if someone is a late withdrawal it's an injury anyway?

It's clear Kennelly won't be dropped.

Yeah, i am sure u are right, unless a last minute training injury was picked up like Johncock last week. It is slightly worrying because they are clearly sweating on his fitness so that they can drop him if he doesn't come up and then effectively have another emergency rather than selecting him in the 18 and then being stuck with using an emergency on him if he isn't well. In saying that if he was named in the 18 today i wouldn't be any more confident in him playing since he was labelled as 'test' on the injury list. I guess if we didn't know it before (which we did thanks to the injury list), we now know they are sweating on his fitness. I'll have a guess and say that he will be named to play and they will give him the extra day, until Saturday, to prove his fitness. I think they just put him on the extended bench as insurance so if he is in a terrible way tommorrow they can drop him without 'wasting' one of their 3 emergencies.

does anyone know why higgins is named on the extended bench? is there a problem with him, seems awkward that gia is named on field, and higgins on bench. I would be kinda 1 man down. Have no idea why, but i logged in after lockout to find that ive put bastinac and todd banfield emergencies, both in mids, & magguire in defence. No idea why hitchcock isn't my emergency:S, i must have pressed the wrong button on my phone, just before lockout. Though if higgins is out, im stuffed!.

I think it is fair to assume Higgins will play, regardless of his position on the extended bench. Tyson Edwards for example was named on the extended bench last week but was never in doubt to play. He will play, although he doesn't quite have the class of Tyson Edwards.

I'm very surprised by Reimers getting dropped, he played OK last week i thought. Hopefully Hitchcock comes scores big now. A partial lockout would have helped a lot for me this week. I wouldn't have had to have picked two backline emergencies sweating over both Everitt's place in the team and Kennelly's injury. With Reimers out i could have used the multi-positional changes to still have Hitchcock as an emergency and play another midfield rookie instead. Therefore, i would still have 1 playing backline, midfield and forward emergency.

Now i have 2 backline emergencies which means the lower scorer will count which might not be too bad because i am guessing the 2 will score fairly similar, although it is hardly optimum. I have no midfield emergencies, as far as i know no one is under an injury cloud but it still makes me nervous particularly when i have 2 perfectly good bench rookies. Now, I have no forward emergencies either unless Reimers is a late inclusion. Oh well, shouldn't cost me but if there is a midfield or forward late withdrawal i will be a bit annoyed.

Unconfirmed reports on the Bulldogs board that Brad Johnson may have re-injured his calf/achillies. Probably wont affect too many around here though..
