Cox wouldnt make any other finals team 22's. Stanely is a harder footy player than him.

Cox has been in our best the last 2 matches, it would have been a joke if he was dropped.

I probably would have rathered Cook out instead of Stanley, but i'm pretty happy Thomas is back.
Obviously Wood just hasn't done enough at VFL level, considering how average Bryan has been.

Stanners should be in the team. Especially with Adelaide's flood game plan, its going to take people who are willing to put their head over the ball to win this one for us. aka burns :thumbsd:. Stanners is his best replacement. We all know he does it very well.

Wood must be going pretty damn bad then:(

Check out the VFL wrap in DTM Youtube thread.

Wood got 14 touches with 7 marks.

The guy commentating said he played well, but he wasn't listed in the best players.

I'm bitterly disappointed because a) he's not in the first, but more importantly b) hasn't been all that impressive in the seconds(from most reports)

But on sheer ability he has to be selected in front of Bryan doesn't he?

Stanley is an emergency. So is Iles, so is Wakelin.

As I pointed out earlier in the thread; Barham, MacAffer and Egan were last week's emergencies.

Stanley is stiff to say the least.

Burns out is a massive blow.

Bryan has got to consider himself very lucky.

I don't like Dawes JA and Cloke in the same fowardline against adeliade. Would have preferred a smaller foward line. Even Thomas Medhurst Cloke and Anthony as permenant fowards.

Ditto.

Especially if Bock lines up on Dawes, it could be disastrous for us.

I'm also a bit concerned about the training report on here that said Medders was training with the midfield group. Surely that experiment has well and truly run its course?

Yeh would much rather Bock go to Cloke so he has to be accountable and can't just run off and run a muck

He's been fantastic mate. Good intensity and we all know he has the class.

Leon was our best last week, but Coxie was therebouts, feeding plenty of it in tight situations, including to Leon.

Would expect Stevens to go to Dawes with Rutten taking Anthony and Bock taking Cloke.

Honestly, that would be an ideal situation for us.

Will Bock go with Cloke if Cloke stays deep?

So i suspected;)

If Cloke stayed deep I wouldn't be shocked if Rutten got the job to be honest.

From time to time Adelaide have actually had Bock and Rutten swap opponents as their opponents played deeper and further from goal such as Pavlich, Richo and Buddy.

That's what I'd expect, tbh.

Bock could really hurt us going the other way, and I'm sure Craig is aware of that. I prefer Cloke close to goal generally, but in this case I'd almost "sacrifice" him in order to keep Bock in check. Especially since it's not like Cloke is going to rip Rutten apart when he goes deep.

And I suspect we could have some luck going to Dawes vs. Stevens (I just don't rate the guy for whatever reason).

Stanley is awful, that was obvious. But how is Dawes still in - he looks so lost and he's just not fit enough for second efforts. Not fit against Adelaide is suicide, they'll just run the ball out way too easily.

Tarks really needs to play the Didak role out of half forward so Medhurst can have a bigger impact on the scoreboard.

Or Craig might try to isolate Bock on Dawes and expliot the young fellas lack of fitness.

The Beast is going to have to be A-grade with his defensive pressure on Saturday.

It's certainly going to be interesting with match-ups.

Here's hoping we get the better end of em!

You have been eating too much of your jam. Stanners was in our Best at Freo last week. I don't understand the logic know Daisy had to come back in but Stanners out??????????? can think of three or four other players could have been dropped.

We must of been watching two different games.

Stanley was horrible....couldn't kick to save himself and provided absolutely nothing to the team.

Dawes, McArthy, Wellingham, Anthony...they've all at least showed glimpses, shown something that indicates with experience they will be good players.

Stanley has shown absolutely nothing. That set shot on goal was horrible, and his kicking in general has been painful to watch. His apparent 'inside' work was unsighted, and to be honest, I can't see how or why anyone would be wondering why he was dropped.

He is crap, and the sooner we realise that the better.

Yeah, I must have been watching a different game too because I did see his inside work and I did see his contested marking and I did see his man on man work and his propping up a crap defence and not shirking anything like Goldsack did, and a tough save and tough turnover. He had two poor kicks on a night when half the team played like dogs...but suit yourself.

craig or bock dont really have much say in this
if he gets bock dawes should stand inthe goal square and not move...if bock zones off then for a while all our attack goes through big dawes meaning bock will have to be accountable, its simply a similar tactic that has been applied to heath shaw so u would suspect MM would be aware of it
