I wouldn't be supprised to see Hudghton in as a late change?? If he's right to good a player not to be there with Goddard's absence.
I love Maxxy, but don't think he'll be rushed back in. Not sure a wet MCG would be the best surface for him to come back on. Lyon seems to be allowing our players more time to get themselves 100% before coming back to the firsts.

A wet MCG isn't exactly suited to all three of Kosi, Rix and Clarke either.

Looks like Kosi is going to be used down back given both Clarke and Rix are named.

A change has been made By St.Kilda

OUT: Jones, Cracked bone out 6 weeks
IN: Brookes, Brought in from outside the initial squad

Rix, Kozzi, Brookes and Clarke it's a tall line up since it meant to rain?

Replacing jones with Brooks - i don't like it at all. Armtiage or sweeny would of been better. Rix, Brooks, M.Clarke all in the one team. Not too sure about that one:confused:

Armitage must be close. Lyon is teasing us!
You've got your wish. From AFL Site:

St Kilda's number nine pick at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft, David Armitage, is set to line up for the Saints in tomorrow night's Blue Ribbon Cup match against the Hawks.

Armitage will make his debut for the Saints at the MCG after replacing Matthew Clarke, who has been withdrawn from the game with a calf injury.

The left-footed ball-winner played in the Club's NAB Cup and Challenge matches this year and can play in either defence or midfield. He also won the Rising Star Award playing for Morningside last year in the AFL Queensland league.

A change has been made By St.Kilda

OUT: Jones, Cracked bone out 6 weeks
IN: Brookes, Brought in from outside the initial squad

this is also being reported on the AFL site.

Looking forward to seeing what Lyon will do with so many talls if it still rains.. should someone remind him its not at the dome??

Surely if it rains there will be no suitable spot for blake or brooks.

Blake was horrible in the wet against port adelaide.

Armitage would be a more suitable replacement for Jones to bolster the midfield - where the hawks are strong..

Apparently M Clark cannot play so replaced by Brooks, C Jones injured so Armitage gets to debut.

So in the end, that "injury" to Clinton Jones was very real. I thought people were saying it was just a bruised collarbone. Does anyone know the extent of it? Someone said in this thread he would be out 6 weeks. That would be as if he had broken it and would be terrible news for him and our club. :(

Very happy to see Armitage debut :thumbsu: , dreamteam points for my stagnant midfield which also includes Beau Muston (ffs give this kid a go). I hope he has a good game - most debutants play well against Hawthorn

Jones withdrawn from Saints v Hawks clash

Vanessa Gigliotti for saints.com.au

St Kilda's Clinton Jones has been withdrawn from the Saints v Hawks match to be played tomorrow night at the MCG, due to further aggrevation of an initial collarbone injury.

Further scans conducted confirmed a presence of a subtle crack in his collarbone, with Jones facing a 5-6 recovery period. Jones will be replaced in the Saints side with Barry Brooks.

Link
I'm really disappointed for him. I thought he added some much needed pace and enthusiasm to the team and despite being a player blessed with electric speed it was his willingness to lay a strong tackle and do the hard stuff that really impressed me.

With Clarke also dropping out it makes sense to bring in Brooks and I'd love him to prove the doubters (including myself) wrong.

As for Armitage, can't wait to see him play. Ross has given him plenty of time to find his feet in the VFL and hopefully that might help him to find his feet a little earlier.

Then Howard played and the effort was appaling. I am trying not to get too upset by it, but lets face it, we were poor. OUr next month is make or break and I fear we may, after it, be well positioned to get an early fraft pick. I will be only too happy to be proven wrong and in my opinion, we have our team at more or less the top strength we can expect. Everyone has at least two first 18s out, so lets leave injuries aside. It is not RL's fault either, the players have to start really trying. I do not see anybody crawling off the field at the end of matches. The eagles do that, especially cousins, so let him celebrate how he sees fit, he has less to answer for than our boys today, in my humble, only caring about results opinion. Prove me wrong. I don't see it though. I would love our biggest issue to be recreational drugs. Non footballing issues in the media like that must reflect the on field helth of a footy club. Ours are huge and I fear long term.

I think you might have a drug problem. Dead set. Re-read your quote. It's all over the shop, dripping with paranoia and fear and barely making any sense at all. Would you like to "borrow a couple of dollars for a train ticket" while you're at it?
