Rix is in for a long, hard day. I maintain that we should've brought in another ruck - even if it was Van Rheenan. If we dropped Fiora, played Roo in his spot as a drifting tall midfielder, and gave VR a chance against a young team, I think it would make more sense than playing with only one specialist ruckman. Blake's versatile, but isn't a great second ruck when Rix is our first. If we do lose - which we still shouldn't - I think this'll be the main reason why.

... And whatever the fitness staff need to do to get Kosi right by the Collingwood game, they need to do it... big time...

I agree with you PS. Especially as the tiges have brought in Simmonds for extra height in their ruck division, and have a relatively small, inexperienced back-line.

Rixy will be buggered by the end of the game!

I'm with you on this one Persevering Saint & I like your nik too! I must admit, as with Brookes, I don't have much faith in Rix - but I'd love him to give me a reason to.

How has VR been going with Casey?

I hear Fergus Watts does a little bit of ruck work for casey - i wouldn't of thought he would be a ruckman though.

What is going on with M.Clarke? He hasn't played since round nine against the dockers. I think we are witnessing why he initially retired from AFL - His body has reached it's limits, hence all the injuries this year.

Did anyone see our ruck hitouts against WC ? Horrible - we had 19 in all, including two for Fiora and one each for Hayes, Milne and X Clarke. Sure, one average ruckman is not ideal but if there's one thing Thomas taught our onballers to do, it's rove the opposition ruckman.

And I love the one change. When was the last time we had one change? 1974?

We may not need two ruckman against Richmond. Simmonds is quite underdone and Pattison is very much a fill in - in the mould of "creating a contest".

Their shortish backline is capable of maintaining possession for long periods unless we use our height advantage wisely. Nathan Brown's return last week inspired the tiges almost as much as Harvey's 350th inspired us.

This time Harves is playing in front of a parochial "Home Crowd".

The Saints fans need to be LOUD and PROUD of our man.

Let's give him the sort of reception he deserves tonight. :thumbsu:
