With Lynch and Nicoski dropped the average age of our 22 must be quite low. I wonder what the lowest aged 22 is we've ever put on the field.

we now have the right half back area covered WITH bUTLER AND sTEVENSON to kick out well.

We still need Hams to put pressure on THe Geelong midfielders when they go back to their half back to collect the ball.

hopefully Wters is placed up there to do some of that.
McKINLAY COULD surprise everyone and do alot of the tackling

The side was carrying too many small to mid sized defenders in the side.

Having Hurn, Waters, Butler, Sheppard, McGinnity and to a lesser extent Scooter capable of playing down back was too many. Dropping the one with the worst disposal was the right idea. We should be playing guys capable of kicking goals up forward rather than rotating the extra HBF/back pocket players.

Haha I thoroughly enjoy his soccer postings too. The one on the ref in the FA cup semi was brilliant :D

I'm still looking forward to seeing NicNat though. We don't get many of your games on FTA here so I haven't seen that much of him live.

Yes like you, every Geelong supporter I know still has no idea why Gamble played defence. One of the great mysteries of the universe. I hear Mitch Duncan is the travelling emergency so you won't get your wish with Gamble.

Simpson was dropped for the same reason most of our kids are-competition for spots. Good kid though, I like him. Will get beaten by Cox, but so long as he's competitive.

had to laugh at that... that Go eagles bloke is someone else. i know my grammar is pretty poor but it cant be as bad as this other guy, i know how to spell McKinley aswell FFS!

Schoey will go to Stevie J again. Played brilliantly on him when we got smashed by >100 against them at Subi last time around. I have faith that we'll be much more competitive this week, we'll keep it within 6 goals I think.

As good as McGinnity's defensive work is... his footskills are sub par. Geelong will make us pay better than anyone else on any error we make, so I think his omission was justified.

As far as matchups go... I'd go:
Wilkes to Mooney,
E-Mac to J-Pod (he's the more dangerous of the two forwards)
Schoey to Stevie J
Butler/Waters to alternate between Varcoe and Stokes

We need to try and keep Hurn or Stevenson as unaccountable as possible and fully utilise their rebounding ability. Play them on one of their weaker players... if thats really possible with Geelong.

Really think Dalziell needs to be given a go as a leading HFF. With a tank like his lets see if he can use it.

Can we really carry McGinnity and S.Selwood in the same 11. The answer is no at the moment.

Leave Brown at FF for the rest of the year. Hes the closest thing to a answer we have

Shuffling the deck chairs again. Having trouble seeing what Scott Selwood has got over McGinnity, having trouble seeing what Scott Selwood's got at all, and Embley's kicking is s..., don't know what's happened there.
