Ted Richards will thrive elsewhere

Does not know how to play forward well, when the team is at full strength.

Thrived as the 3rd tall defender this year, playing the Solomon role.

Thrived?
10 games for the year!
9 tackles and no more than 12 possessions in a game.
Will be 23 in 3 months.

If thats thriving, whats his struggling look like?

Amen. Anybody would think Teddy is an AA CHB.

You do know Hudson's stats weren't particularly great either? But he was very deserving of his AA status.

If you're playing in defence, stats aren't as important as what your opponent doesn't do.

Right you are. Apologies.

Ted did a pretty good job. One goal from a free, one goal out of his backside.

a bull sh*t free at that too and he got another goal after davies i think intercepted a handball and fed it off to him into a open goal.

Dont trust much from SEN.

David Schwarz yesterday criticised the poor form of Steven Koops for Fremantles bad year........

For thos ethat aren't aware, Koops was traded 2 years ago to the dogs and retires from the dogs earlier this year.

Accuracy ain't too important with SEN.

If we pay a first rounder i'll start a lynch mob and go down the Whitten Oval.

Hey, if the Saints are prepared to cough up pick 17 for Angus Watts, you have to say that the Doggies first round pick for Richards aint that far fetched.
Fair point. He's certainly not worth pick 11 IMO, but then again Jacobs wasn't worth pick 6 in 2003 either. Interesting days ahead.

Heh, they're both Ben's, they play in the same side, sheesh.

Make one little mistake, mutter, mutter, mutter.

Anyway, the point is that Ben Rutten didn't get a huge number of stats, but still had a huge impact. Richards got his first series of consecutive games by playing the last 10. And in that period he showed consistent good form, beating a couple of full forwards outright, and restricting others.

I was at the Melb/Ess game, and given the form Robbo was in and the supply, I thought Richards did a great job. Espescially (as has been mentioned) one was a Warne leg break, and another was created when Davey's man screwed up and left Richards trying to stop two guys.

Is the rest of your post as accurate as this?
He played seven consecutive games, didnt make the side until round 3 and was dropped twice!

This guy is coming in to his 6th season of AFL footy!
Yet he cant hold a place in a bottom 8 side.

Perspective people.
