I love TED so much but am entirely disappointed they banned Graham Hancock's talk on the "war on consciousness" - the banning of his talk proved everything that he was saying.

Why would they have taken it down? Drug promotion or just ignorance?

Don't really like TED as a rule. Too many self-important individuals but I guess you have to be to tell your story.

Sometimes the shortest ones have the most impact...

Unfortunately that impact generally doesn't last long on most of us, as we get back to more important things like making money and pushing ego.

You don't need a near death experience to engage common sense. You just need common sense.

I'm just a harsh sort of guy I guess.
Not sure as to which of my statements you're referring to Gasometer and relating an experience is always of good value.

Guess I'm just sort of cynical as most of us take on our view as being absolute and sell it accordingly.
Just somehow don't like people announcing their survival as a miracle as by default the suggestion is that those that didn't survive weren't worthy of such a miracle.

I didn't take it as being that HARKER, I just took the message as being live your life to the fullest whilst you can; I think that's a good message to be reminded of whether its him, my Mum or the old dude I see at the nursing home smoking his *** every night at 7pm.

That's the thing though.
We all know that but are somehow cajoled into not applying it.

It's the same thing when someone suffers a tragedy, we say "that really puts things into perspective"......ten minutes later and life just rolls on again.

We don't need a near death experience to realise the bleeding obvious. We should know by now.
