Telstra T-Box question

With the T-Box are you able to record shows on 7Two, GO, 7MATE etc. I have a normal disc recorder now and i am unable to do that. Advice is needed!:)

A PVR will do the same job. Can buy them cheap off ebay!

Isn't the T-Box a PVR?

I'd say that the T-Box would probably be a more expensive version of some of the PVR's you can get on eBay.

I have a Strong one and that does the job perfectly!

# Record individual free-to-air shows or an entire series
# Pause, rewind and record live free-to-air TV
# Store over 100 hours of standard definition
# Program up to seven days ahead; see what’s on, and record your favourite shows

It allows you to stream Net onto TV too
Plus AFL replays

Not bad for the price.IMO

Also note the user rating and the comments?

3.8/10 proves that it's an over-priced abomination!

Dont know how its over priced
What would a PVR that streams interweb cost?
and do they allow you to download movies and watch AFL replays.

I think TBOx is $11 for 2 years then free (except movie rentals)about $300ish)

I don't have one but probably will get one.(just waiting for more sweetners and the footy season to start)

I think that they probs show replays of games throughout the off-season. Hoope so! Probs getting one in the next week

Do people avoid reading reviews before they buy a product and then complain afterwards about how shit their said product is?

Seriously. Do the research. And if you do, you'd realise that paying $1 for this is overpriced!

137 user reviews and an average rating of 3.8. The T-Box has issues. There's no downplaying that, HawkDork, even if you work for Telstra.

We have one. No problems so far. Good dual tuner PVR, with a whole heap of extra Bigpond channels as well as access to Bigpond movies which download quickly and look great on our full HD picture.

People bag Telstra purely because they're Telstra, but this thing's actually pretty good.

I dont work for Telstra
I dont have one
but I do have big pond
If I bought one it would be to stream Net onto TV and watch BP content as well as record
Reviews say its aimed at people who don't have Foxtel(which is me)
Unfortunately I don't have digital TV either (so am waiting for that next year).
I was tossing up between a WD Media Player.TBOx or http://www.veebeam.com/pages/How-It-Works.html
Advantage with TBox is records TV and pauses as well as the streaming
WD streams and records
Veebeam just streams

True
PS
Telstra where nice to me today they knocked $75 of my bill because they didn't explain they where going to charge me one month in advances
I didn't argue or anything it was a real surprise(must be brown nosing for customers)I like it

Read customer comments as well as the reviews mate. They are the ones who use them for sustained periods of time! And those comments all follow a pretty common theme!

FYI, I actually am in the job application process for a job at Telstra, I have Telstra for my mobile and home phone and broadband. I'm not bagging them out for no reason, I'm happy with my telstra services - I am however skeptical with the T-Box.

Half of those reviewers have probably never even seen a T-Box. It's the internet ffs.

Good news for me we just got a letter from Sen Conroy telling us we will be getting digital by aerial not satelite:thumbsu:

Does anyone know if you can view your puter on TBox or does it only do the you tubes and bigpond tv stuff ?
Telstra guy (on the phone)said he thought you could but wasn't 100% convincing.

Major aim is to play movies on puter and watch on big tv while lying on couch
