I'm fascinated by your socks, and can't wait to see them with a design on them.

Shape overall is good, but you still need to work on having curves and not points at each anchor point. Remember, click and drag to make curves.

As I said, it took me ages to get the hang of the pen tool, so keep plugging away.

El_Scorcho can I have you're rugby template?
Please?
Pretty Please?
Pretty Please with Fondant on top?

Not this time. I'll possibly release it after the competition, but until then i'm keeping it to myself.

If you're after a Photoshop template, here is the one that craegus found.

That's as good as mine anyway

That shape is pretty familiar.

I'm going to stress again that people should be using existing templates. There are now really great templates available for Paint, Illustrator and Photoshop. Make use of them. There is no rush or advantage to make your own template unless you've got your basic graphic design skills down and can achieve what you want to achieve. Until that time, you're using your own template to your detriment.

I was posting on this board for 6 years before I attempted my own template.

It's not my template, I said I'm using A new template.

Relax mate, I've only got paint and it's hard to get good templates when everyone on here is using photoshop and illustrator. Everytime I post a guernsey and then look at everyone else's I just feel like no matter how good I think the design is, I'm not going to get any recognition for. I feel this way it because it doesn't have gradients, it doesn't have shading, it isn't strokeless and I'm not the best designer on here. But I'm trying to make the most of what I've got at the moment and that is only paint on my computer.

So I'm sorry for posting shitty designs on shitty templates that aren't my own but I enjoy doing it and I enjoy showing other people what I can come up with even if it's nowhere near as good as others.

What I did to make this guernsey is copied the template from another user and re-coloured it in paint which only took about 30 minutes to get (what I thought) was a pretty good paint shadow in the middle. Then I made the background in typical paint fashion by drawing lines and colouring in certain segments.

But if none of this is good enough for you then I'll pack up and I won't post anything anymore.

Use the ScottFreo / lmach paint template. It could easily pass for a design done in PS if done right.
I don't want them to look like a PS design, I want it to look like a paint design because that's what it is.

I don't get it with you guys, why does it have to look like someone is wearing the jumper? Why does a "good" design have to have shadows on it? There's no shadow on a guernsey when it is printed, so why does it have to be on one when designing it?

And why can't I just post a guernsey that I drew without people saying "looks familiar" or "should make it look like PS"? Honestly, what's wrong with posting a plain guernsey that is a flat image, because, at the end of the day, that's what they are aren't they? No one tells Mero that his 912 guernsey's don't have shadow's on them and therefor aren't as good as everyone else's.

Not to derail this even further, but I don't understand actively wanting your stuff to not look as good as it could with a very easy change like another template.
Because I believe that this is what a footy jumper should look like. So therefor I use this template.
