Spanna65 this might be personal preference, but I think shrinking the collar a bit might help?

What's with the shadow behind the template? I personally find it annoying.

So you can see it on a white background.

Hi guys,

I'm working on a template which is something completely different to anything else on here (from what I can gather). Can I get some feedback?

I am not happy with the boots either, so if anyone has some ideas for this, please let me know.

Okay, so I've added some more stuff to the template:
- team templates which fit with the template shape (which is asymmetrical... pain in the arse):
1- Richmond sash (saggy)
2- Essendon sash (straight)
3- Sydney yoke
4- Melbourne yoke
5- Melbourne monogram

- a jumper brand label in the bottom right of the jumper
- an alternate yellow Sherrin
- I've also completed the boots... with layers for the boot shell itself, the boot tongue, the boot stitching, and the boot laces so they can be all colour modified. No branding on the boots... don't think I will add that.

Final update for the day...
- Added shoulder stitching and side-panel stitching to the guernsey
- Changed the collar as well to make it more 'modern'

Going to add similar stitching to the shorts, they look a little 'flat' at the moment. Will eventually add some panels to the shorts as well to break the colour up a little.

Also, one thing I gonna try and get done as well is sleeves to make it possible to have long-sleeve guernseys.

Here is a muck around example... ignore the colours, I just wanted a light colour so stitching and panels were visible.

Looks great, if I have one bit of constructive criticism (and I know this'll be quite hard to fix) it's that there is no 'perspective' to the guernsey; it looks quite flat when the player is supposedly standing somewhat tilted.

Yeah, agreed... I'm gonna have to tinker with some layers to add that depth. I'll see how I go... early days. Haha

If you want stitching and shading to show on a black guernsey, make the black 95%. In RGB that's 17, 17, 17. Then, so long as the stitching and shading have a black color overlay, then they should be distinct.

Not related to the guernsey, but are you thinking of adding shading to the player too? Things like kneecaps and wrist joints are very flat there

Yeah, I will eventually. I'm just trying to get the nuts and bolts of it done first then I'll tinker with the finer points. Work in progress. Haha

In all honesty, I'll probably just upload it and let more skilled people like yourself muck around with it too. I'm on uni break at the minute, but once that is done I won't be able to do much more on it

Some new additions:
- Updated shading on guernsey to try reduce flatness of image
- Added shading to skin, socks, and boots try reduce flatness of image
- Added stitching and coloured piping to the shorts

I will eventually... I haven't uploaded it yet. I still wanna add a heap to it.

Plus it is a mess of about 50-60 layers at the moment... I wouldn't want to put any of you through the nightmare of sorting that out. Haha

I tried to record a video tutorial on how to make a basic rugby template from start to finish yesterday, all the audio recorded fine, none of the video (screen capture) recorded... I'll do it when I Have another undisturbed hour to do so... But... here's an ISC jersey template for you (another AI) file (which was the whole point of the video):

- Pretty obvious addition of sleeves, which obviously makes long sleeve jumpers possible now (except hooped sleeves... for now)
- Completed all club templates
- Decided I'd make my own boot brand to tie in with the branding for my guernsey and shorts.
- Added a grass 'podium'

Didn't do much today... sleeves literally took 5-6hrs to do. Thank God for uni holidays and morning shift this week. Hahaha.

Anyway, here is a rare jumper that I've seen get some major love on other threads, so I thought I'd test my template out on it... a long-sleeved West Coast 'Yellow Peril'.

Thanks mate... yeah, gotta tighten the sleeves a bit. Want to fix the wrist cuffs a little too.
